Im not like you will never comment on Heroics by the only match winner in our team .........
OK I take it back....although I thought that "great" performance of "paksitani viv riachrds" warranted more than 4 words of analysis....but you did say something, so i stand corrected....
as far shahibzada mohammad shahid khan afridi sahib is concerned....yeah salute to him....awesome performance! lala mahan ha.....
(and with that he will be off for next 10 matches..especially his bat!!!)
I agree I was hoping for hammad azam, can't we have wicket keeper other than shakeel, someone who can bat also, even hafeez needs some stability, we have to work on our openers, for ODI opening partnership is necessary.
Good thing about today's match umer gul was not playing
But for Boom Boom and superb all-round bowling display, Pakistan would have definitely lost today
Despite the win, once again much of the batting was pathetic (barring Afridi, Malik and Hafeez)
The downside is that after today's improved performances, both Sami and Malik will now most likely get selected for the T20 World Cup!
The two parchis Khalid Latif and Shakeel Ansar need to go
Hammad Azam deserves to be in both our ODI and T20 teams
yep, you are absolutely right that we need hammad azam for both ODIs and T-20s...why are we playing with this young man's career? no idea.....
the best thing is that the team won with no umar gul....nothing against him but after 10 years we need to phase out him...gradually... as he has not been able to deliver consistently as a senior bowler....
one thing that I dont understand....how do we know khalid lateef and shakeel are parchis? i mean i dont know who these players are but do we really need to start calling every player a parchi when he does not perform for couple of matches after being selected?...
what if latif score a century in the next page...i think we need to be more conservative before we give a new player a chance but once we do, we need to give him a bit of space..and by space i dont mean that he shd play 15 matches in a row but at least he shd be be part of 15 players for 10-15 matches....there is a lot of pressure on new players...now latif is not brand new but last i checked on cricinfo, he scored over 300 runs in last eight first class T20s at an average north of 42...so he got a chance...
His second spell was awesome, he bowled with real pace, if he can keep that performance up he will be an asset in the coming matches. Question is can he?
Hammad certainly needs to improve his bowling but the few chances he’s got he’s shown a lot of promise with the bat incl. the vital knocks he played in the Asia Cup final and in one of the one-dayers vs England
Maybe he has an attitude problem and this doesn’t go down well with his teammates, but we just don’t know
One good result does not change the fact that there’re some pretty poor and questionable selections in all three formats
Asad Shafiq should have been selected in both ODI and T20I teams. You need atleast one good stabilizer in your side. Malik batted well today but he is just too inconsistent these days
Hammad Azam should have been picked for both limited-overs formats (and played in both T20Is)
Ahmed Shehzad should have been selected in both ODI and T20I squads regardless of the injury to Nasir Jamshed. He is the future of our batting
Afridi 52 of 33 balls against Sri Lanka today is his first 50+ score in T20's in nearly 2 years. His last fifty also came against Sri Lanka back in august 2009 in WC T20 Final.
any guess when we will see repeat of this performance!!!
^^ I hope so, but the records of Afridi, Malik, Umer Akmal and many like them suggest otherwise...
These players are known for playing a good inning after every 10 bad innings... winning a match and getting out playing loose shot in other 9 is no way can be called great thing... but this is what we do... and least to say this kind of attitude only waste talents.... Hammad Azam is the player which is being wasted as of we speak!
