Never underestimate the heart of a champion. My two pearls were spot on! Bat second and bring Kami down the order.
Jaheer Khan who happens to better than Akram got slapped around at the end. Indians should be afraid, very afraid.

A good team performance and result.
Re: 2nd ODI: India v Pakistan at Mohali - Nov 8, 2007
bharath par pakistan ka jhanda :)?
Hm...I understand they are removing your jhanda within pakistan ....so don't cry too much; we are good hosts and refugee flags are tolerated as long as they behave:D
Re: 2nd ODI: India v Pakistan at Mohali - Nov 8, 2007
After 25 overs we were 116 for 3 - - - Run Rate of 4.6 per over
In next 24.5 overs we scored 206 more runs at the rate of 8.4 runs per over
that's a Real Team effort

hahahaha....
Nothing succeeds like success I guess. A few Umpiring errors, one bad 48th over by Zaheer.....and now Pakistani players have the HEART OF CHAMPIONS.
You flip-flop arm-chair critics must also have found Shoaib Malik's captaincy spectacular today - I have no doubts.

thanks for sharing the link Pakistan innings.

Now get over it! And have a Bhangra session with your fellow Indians.
After 1-2 pegs you feel much better.

As you know, I'm not a "flip-flop arm-chair critic" like most shmucks in here. I still found Malik's captaincy to be quite atrocious; he was lethargic and dull on the field when Tendulkar was battering us, and there seemed to be no Plan B and no body language that would suggest that we were there to win. Only Afridi seemed charged up in the field in the initial overs, and if it wasn't for Gul's great comeback spell, this would have ended in another Pakistani defeat. In short, Malik has shown me nothing that would suggest he would make a good captain (while Dhoni has, mind you).
Re: 2nd ODI: India v Pakistan at Mohali - Nov 8, 2007
^Afirdi may be an impatient batsman, but one thing you must hand to Afridi (and I think you did)....is that he is pretty involved in the game all the time....signs of a good captain...for instance he does not hide his unhappiness when fielders fumble etc.
I may be wrong...but I haven't seen Malik walk alongside the bowlers to the top of their run-up - the way many captains do - encouraging the bowler, giving advice etc....his style is pretty detached and hands-off.

Well played Pakistan nice match

Signs of a good captain? Are you suggesting Afridi should lead the team cuz he seemed involved? Well, as per Afridi, he is the first one who throws 'strategy' out of the window when he steps on the field.
Thanks for your expert opinion though. Not to mention India scored more than 300 runs despite of the 'long tail'. You have a very defensive mindset, on the other hand, I respect The Games' comments cuz they are on the money most of the time. If he thinks Malik needs to get more involved then maybe Malik should get off his butt, however, Afridi is not the resolution.
Re: 2nd ODI: India v Pakistan at Mohali - Nov 8, 2007
eventhough we won.. we have to see what makes india get that much total.. the extras that pakistan gave today were unacceptable.. 41 extras.. can u believe it...
Re: 2nd ODI: India v Pakistan at Mohali - Nov 8, 2007
^ those extras are a new record in indo-pak games. plus the fielding and keeping were far from satisfactory
Re: 2nd ODI: India v Pakistan at Mohali - Nov 8, 2007
Pak won..i watched the first match but not this one....i wish i could see that....But still congratz to everyone n well played Younis....!
Bes of luck for rest of the series!

If you were a detail-oriented man, you might have noticed that India dropped a bowler (Kartik) in favor of a batsman ('Sehwag'). So the tail got shorter my friend.
Even so, it is not exactly impossible to score 300+ even with just 2-3 specialist batsmen.
And I was talking about Afridi's body language on the field...his batting style is well known to everybody and does not require repeating.
