I don't know why people in our society look at divorced women differently. Most of the wives of the Prophet (saw) were divorced women.
It is the character, (Seerat & Haya) and manners that matters the most, no matter how she looks like and what is her back ground.
Her physical appearance and back ground would fade away with time, but the inner beauty would always remain, by the grace of Allah.
You know, usually your comments are borderline extreme, but I do agree with you on this. This is the pitiful state we're in. Our religion teaches us SO much about forgiveness and redemption, and individuality, and that no one has the right to judge anyone else, and has taught us so much about respecting women as PEOPLE. Yet, our Pakistanis are still hell bent on judging this woman - everything from stating that she is lucky to be getting married, to that she should not be so extravagant in her dressing, etc - as if she doesn't deserve to be happy!
And its not even like she had her child out of wedlock. She was MARRIED before. She was not whoring around!
