A simple rule should be followed, which should be applied to both of them.
If the husband thinks that he has a right to tell his wife what he would like her to wear, than he should also give the same right to his wife in terms of his own dress and vice versa.
In this matter, there should be either a two way traffic or no traffic. One should not expect one's spouse to respect his/her views on a certain matter when the person doesn't respect the views of his/her spouse.
