According to dunya news when the attack started the Pakistani commanders on ground pleaded with the Americans to stop the attack but it persisted for two hours, so who should apologize now? Wasn't there enough time for our air force to engage the invading forces?

I don't think they have orders to retaliate otherwise two hours are more than enough for the air force to come to their support, Pak army high command is solely responsible for this

**Pakistan says the NATO airstrikes that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers went on for close to two hours and continued even after local commanders had told the coalition forces to cease the attacks.
**Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas on Monday also denied Kabul’s claims that Afghan and NATO forces received fire from the direction of the two border posts prior to the airstrikes.
NATO has apologized for the deaths, and has promised an investigation.
The incident has plunged ties between the Pakistan and the United States to fresh lows.
It could setback American hopes of getting Islamabad s help in pushing Afghan Taliban factions on its soil to peace talks.

The Question is what would've the Army done if it had happend on the East or West Border and going on for nearly 2 hours as said ????
Aren't 2 hours enough to scramble some fighter jets or heli's to respond accordingly if they (NATO/ISAF) can call in air support then what did Army sources do ???? so if it really went on for 2 hours and our Jawans simply "pleaded" to stop the attack then the Army itself should answer what went wrong !!!!
What's the billion $ Budget for if they can't defend themself from "friends" ...... have we ever seen such patriotic pictures on TV when innocent PPL die in Attacks ...... as some other guppy did put it rightly ..... we are very selective :(

Lying through their teeth.
The longest sniper shot in history was made at 2.4 kms. That to by an expert British marksman in Kandahar in 2009 with the right equipment. Since the check post is 2.5 km from the Afghanistan border it seems all 24 of our Pakistani Jawans are expert snipers who can make a one in a million shot on a regular basis.
The only way those ****ers came under fire was if they were already in Pakistani territory. Secondly the average Pakistani jawan carries a G3. A german model rifle which has a max range of 1000 meters. If it is true they came under fire from the Pakistani check post they were in Pakistan and violated our sovereignty and the Pakistani forces were in the right to protect their own soil.
The Afghans and NATO are lying through their teeth. Nothing more.

All logistical cooperation should cease. There is no apology or compensation that is enough to make up for this massacre of Pakistan's finest.
I hope that Kiyani sticks to his line and doesn't allow so much as a single crate of food to transit through Pakistan to ISAF from now until their withdrawal is done.
ISAF's own statements indicate that it was an Afghan force that called in the air strike. Pakistan should take economic action against Afghanistan and close the border trade until Afghanistan hands over those Afghans who called in the strike so that they can be tried for murder and executed in Pakistan.

This is all for military acts after 9/11 .
We have lost more than 35000 persons, Most of them were 'bloody; civilians .

Nov 26 2011: 'Pakistan's military will take serious action if any NATO attack occurs in its territory in future'...Parvaiz Kiyani after 25 Pak troops were killed in an attack by US.
Kiyani is making statements like an Indian Politician after every terrorist attack in India.
