I don’t get it. Why did Allah swt bother revealing the Quran over a period of 23 long years if, at the end, we humans were to decide being a good person is enough and we need not be following the Quran?

Why am I missing out on the “good” stuff like alcohol and sex if all it’s going to take for me to enter jannah is compassion for other beings?

Each ayah was given at a certain point in time which applied to the occasion.

In the end we have freewill and will decide whether we want to follow the Qur’aan or not..
