is anyone of you girls getting a wedding cake on barat or valima, in lahore?

Do u have any suggestions where to order a cake...n how much time in advance shud this be done?

Im getting married in september 2013.

I have done nothing apart from book a baraat venue.

I actually cannot be bothered. I want to get married in a shed.

I ll be getting married in October 2013 In Sha Allah.
started the shopping in january. can not decide what color i should wear for my barat. i dont want red anywhere in my outfit, at all. coral is probably what i will go for. what colors do you guys think work well with coral?

I think there is already a thread on contrasts with coral for bridal. Personally I like off white, coral and golden or white, silver and coral.

I think emerald green works well with coral but only as an accent... maybe as a border or something

there is a thread that FarahK started about a dress. that is the dress i have finally zeroed in on for my barat. not sure about the colors though. making these decisions is sooooo hard, i wish someone else would do that for me and hand me over the gorgeous breath-taking joras in the end:( now i know why people go designer.

hey dragonlady, i've also sent u a reply in the other thread where we were discussing the dress, but i forgot to ask, are u having the dress made by the original designer or are u having a replica made?

Another 2013 bride here! Wedding is a week after Eid in August inshAllah. Nikkah will be in Islamabad and Valima in Hyderabad. I haven't gotten anything done yet. I won't be in Pakistan until the first week of August (2 weeks before the wedding), my mom will go in the beginning of June. Do you guy think its enough time to shop for 10-12 jahez suits and everything else if the wedding joras and venues are taken care of by then?

I'm also considering Khiva Marquees for my wedding day. Anyone here has had any experience with them, any reviews?

Hey i'm an April bride inshallah, getting married in Islamabad, chosen Paradise Complex, it's one of the best ones in the twin cities. Still not finalized who to get make up done by, but i think i'm gunna go for Daniella's on Baraat, and either Moshaz or Jugnus in scheme 3 RWP for Walima. Have u chosen urs yet? When is ur wedding x

^ Makeup is one thing I'm having a lot of trouble with. All islamabad bridal makeup threads are at least 2-3 years old, and i don't trust the pictures they put up on their fb page. Do you live in Islamabad? Any personal experiences with who is a better option?

hey :) congratulations to you too. i will be getting married in Multan. and since summer sets in a little early in multan and is way too hot, my mother and I have decided to be done with all the shopping before June In Sha Allah. i was waiting for the designers to launch their new collections so i would know what colors to go for, and now that they have i am going through all of them these days to decide on the formals and my baraat jora. and since i ll be getting replicas made it is a lot of work and i am totally clueless :( how about you? have you started?

Thank you! I've started the basics. We've got the wedding hall booked. Unfortunately, I'll be arriving in Lahore about two weeks before my wedding :-(. I wanted to work with my cousin and have her design my dress for me but my mom convinced me not to because she doesn't want me to be unhappy if it doesn't turn out the way I want. So I'm going to go dress hunting the first week I'm there. Luckily I have an idea of the colors I want. But I keep seeing new pics of bridal outfits everyday and am starting to get confused :-/. Also in the process of booking a salon. That's pretty much it. I kind of get random ideas for the wedding but won't really be able to implement until i'm actually physically in lahore! I would love to be done by June like you :-).. good luck
