one of my cousins got her lehenga from anarkali in lahore... dont know which shop, but there is a lot out there in ur budget.

Teri Nazar - Ive never lived in Pakistan so don't have someone I can turn to. I think i'll probably check out Tarek Road since they seem more affordable

I'll be getting married in Jan next year Insh'Allah, I've been engaged for 4 years, and have been planning my wedding in my head since I was 18! So hopefully everything will work out how I want it to. :s
Oh and the wedding's in Isb, and I have no idea about a venue yet.. help anyone?

So the other day both parents met up and set a date :) Alhumdulillah soo happy! It's in april next year! So less than a year to go! and it already feels like time's going by so quick! Where is everyone getting married? How far have you started planning? or will it be a last minute thing? Eeek so nervous!

Okay, so my months are really ticking by.. almost end of April - marriage in January.. !! ok ok I am not panicking because I am a freak when it comes to organising.. One thing i've learnt though is to keep an open mind as a bride.. you'll find, people around your parents your in laws family.. everyone they somewhat get emotional - and start thinking it's their wedding.. and i know i know it;s not theres but yours but I am finding myself much much happier if I have an open mind and if things are not going my way just let it go, and focus on the major things.. to be completely picky down to little things will only cause stress and fights.. and it's meant to be a happy time lol..
Ok my lecture seems to be going on. I shall stop..
Questions/favour from all my fellow 2012 brides.. well news first - MY wedding outfit is ordered !! =) it's a beautiful red with a nice emerald green border.. so my question/favour was, when you go through this forum and searching other things if you come by a picture of a bride which has nice make up on these colors then pls pls pls post them up here.. I really need to know wht type of make up as in colours and style will look good.

Oohh Congrats Zainykhan! I cant believe you've ordered your wedding dress?! How much of the planning have you done? What's been done so far?
That's a good point you made with parents and family thinking its their wedding and to go through the whole thing with an open mind! I'll bear it in mind!

Reading this makes me feel sad, because I'm a 2011 bride and if you're all talking about your upcoming weddings already then that makes me feel like my wedding is already done which means I feel like I didn't have a wedding at all, which is a waste of all my efforts and money, so all this effort and money we put into these weddings are forgotten right away because some 2012/2013 bride come and takes over.
haha, just kiddles! Enjoy yourselves and don'tbecome a monster like me :)

@ CupCake: haha yeah, I am super duper organised, and so what happened was, I finished university last year and just started work, and I knew that I wont be able to take annual leave so early and my mum was going to Pakistan. Thing is, I couldve taken emergency leave for a week or so, but I havent been back to Pakistan in almost 8 yrs, and one week going to Pakistan being with my family and doing all the shopping - couldn't justify it..
In terms of preps, well halls a booked, video/photographer booked, stil llooking for a good MUA.. and umm most of the clothes from my side are ordered but will come in next few months. MIL has also ordered the valima jora.. so yeah..
Getting friends together and all - well dance pracs will start after Ramzan I think...
I want to hear more from others too :)

Wow you've done so much! It must feel good that a lot of the main things have been booked! Whereabout in the world are you? I think when i start looking into things more then i'll have to get a few pointers from the ladies on here because I have no idea what venues are good or what catereres or MUA! :/ it's all gonna be so stressful..but right now i'm not looking at too much into things because i've got exams coming up :/
