Persianmoon, there are desi wedding planners that you can probably find in your area. They will understand how to incorporate everything you want. As for skits, just start youtubing mehndi skits and that may help you create your own idea.

i saw many mehndi movies but yet from thoes highlight u cant find anything as its passing fast so u wont get it...
but if u girls have any idea ...any nice decent formal play...ill be happy to hear ur ideas...

Persian I think you shud write it down somewhere and then plan accordingly. Making slideshows and editing takes time so make sure u get tht done before hand it will be helping. U can actually do all the things u mentioned if u keep doing them on time and not leave them for the last moment. Make a list of all the things, that wut I am goin to do. MY date is in july and i am plannin to practically do nothing from June onwards hehe. I am also going to make a list of things I want a bit customization on my wedding but not a lot.

my issue isnt wats in my mind cuz for them i had-planned but for something that i dont know how to apply i cant make its step...like play..i dont know which play that i can make decision for its performance?
or for the table i wanna show our culture & feilds & intrest...yet im not sure wat can i put for pakistan culture...which things can come as small symbol statue clothe wat? these things + which decent formal play for wedding & mehendi made my mind busy & it seems no one has idea....
im upset...

ok I might nt be able to help u or advice u with the play, But u might need a frnd or someone to make a script and a small play for mehndi. It shod be funny. U can take help from Paki stage shows they are a bit over board but u can make it according to ur style.
Abt showing ur culture, U can show Sindhi Ajrak for Singh side, or Shiny Topis on table centre pieces, and Ajrak as table cloth and u can do same with peshwari things.
If you want to show ur hobbies and interest, U can put a small painting u made for instance at the centre of one table and do something diff for another table. little bits and pieces. Thats all I can think off. Its a lot of work though.

Hi all! I am 2011 bride as well. I posted on this thread before but a long time ago. Im iA getting married on July 13, although I've had my nikkah done 2 year before in May of 09 so this is just my rukusati. Im super excited as I cant wait to start planning full force! My biggest drawback right now is not going to Pakistan for wedding shopping as this wedding will be in the states. but given that the tickets are super expensive and I could use that money somewhere else like furniture its ok. my SIL is making my baraat and walima outfits, bari etc. I have most of my jehez clothes and am getting more made from pak. Did many of you end up going and those who didn't was it ok?
I am in the same situation. Nikkah happend last year, rukhsati on July 25th, really wish to go to Pakistan but rather spend that money else where. You have your dress situation set, so lucky you. So far, I have no dress :( and I'm making very few clothes to take along, about 10 pairs.
bridezilla12, my engagement ring is a cluster of little diamonds, it's cute but I never ever wear it :P too much hassle and I forget lol

also to all the ladies-what stage of planning are you guys on? I'm somewhere in the middle I think or a little bit before the middle. Wasn't there a list a while back, maybe not on this thread, of all the things that go into baraat, walima, mehndi etc?
I think I'm also in the middle somewhere. I've got the venue booked & caterer decided, and the caterer is providing me with a decorator. We still have to pick out the menu & decorations, but I'm not too worried about that. My main concern right now is ordering clothes & jewelry, since everything takes sooo long to receive after placing an order. I'm in the states, but the clothes will be made in pk. Also I'm clueless about finding a MUA. ANDDDD I have to lose 20lbs. Lol.

my Ring is a wave shape that has 2 row of diomond & 1 row is simple....totaly its not big and also simple...
im wearing 24 hours just if hubby is sleeping with me then im putting it off...i love it alot & when hubby isnt with me i kiss my ring lol....but now hubby is also doing same...
also for wedding Plans...i almost booked & ordered everything ...just my wedding card left...

And I most certifiably need to go on a diet. Have you decided on how many suits are you going to have for your jehez? Above all this, we have to find an apartment and furnish it. fun fun times :-)
Wedding is in early June inshAllah. Dunno how many joras, I have to talk to the lady who I'm gonna get my outfits from. I have a budget for my jahez clothes, so however many she can make within that budget is what I'll get. I don't need a whole new wardrobe cuz my fiance & I will be moving away for his work, so I won't have many davats to attend. I also have to find an apt & furnish it. That part I'm excited about :)

Muslimah118- heheh Wedding is fun but the lossing weight part is such a pain, Even I want to loose some weight before my wedding. Willl be starting to work on tht soon. Good Luck :D

I LOVE my ring! He picked it... He asked what kind of ring I wanted, but insisted on choosing it himself, and mA he did a GREAT job! I couldn't have chosen a better one myself! It's a beautiful sparkly round cut diamond on a micro pave setting. I wear it all the time and can't get enough of it :)
