Well we were thinking of doing a medley of different songs..some old some new..maybe throw in abit of bhangra!! lol lets c wt happens..good luck with the hair, im sure it’ll look v good!

I think the bow thing is a great idea, we did that on my brothers engagement..looks nice n presentable ye we bough gold trays tooo lol for the mehndi thaals and also these gorgeous coloured red&gold plates that were all glittery over xmas

Well I did dye my hair guys and it didnt really come out that much It was like a really light tint that you could see in the light…but I think Im going to try that Schwarzkopf LIVE dye and see how that turns out…

The plates sound lovely…where did you get them from ?..

The soap is ok…I dont see any immediate effects as of yet…but I have noticed that my skin is more dry then usual..:s esp on my nose when I apply foundation..

I received a massive bouqat of roses from him…they were from M&S autograph range…and some belgiun chocs… and I sent him pinapple cake, flowers, ferro roche n card from that website and him and his family were sooo surprised duffy my fiance was like how did you send it??? loool even his sisters were sayin to me it was really nise surprise everyone loved it !!! Thanks again Duffy for the link…its great!!!

Hows the packing going?..My mum has made a bag for me to take..it full of old clothes to give to some people in PK..and then a seperate pile for gifts…Ive still got quite afew pressies to buy though :s

Yea- I do go back pretty often so if you need ANY advice or have any questions at all … never hesitate to ask me!!! Its very convenient that you are going to Lahore and that is where I always go back to as well!!

My mom and I were talking today about the very topic about starting to buy little things here and there if we see something we like… my worst nightmare is to be that crazy woman running around last minute to get stuff together!!! lol. I am the queen of bargain hunting too …so having the time right now lets me fully utilize my abilities. My mom and I have to be super organized from the get go too since we will be probably be planning this shaadi while living in two separate states So today she was telling about certain things she bought from the dollar store that she thought would be good to decorate mehndi thaals with. I was like why not… there are something that needs to be made… why not start collecting the items to make them now??? I told her that we should have taken advantage of Christmas more… she was like yea I know…but at that time we had no idea that I was even going to get engaged. lol. So we kinda missed the boat on that one a little… Mom and I have to be on our A-game NEXT christmas to by decorations and such at good prices!! LOL

Question for both u and duffy: Are u girls planning on hiring a wedding planner??? Or are u going to plan it all yourselves with your families???

It’s tempting for me to hire a wedding planner… since it will make it a bit easier to organize while living in another state. And if I had a job I probably would hire one… but as of now… its not an option. I don’t want my parents to pay for this expense as well.

Btw: I read your comment on Duffy’s post about your family being on the stricter side about the dancing. Same here actually. My SIL asked me to take part in a dance and also perform one by myself on her mehndi but I had to say no to her. It’s a mixed mehndi and my mom told me she wouldn’t feel comfortable with me dancing in front of mixed company…especially since I am “newly engaged”. I personally don’t think its a big deal and neither do my inlaws because they are more the hula gula type. But I respect my parents wishes and will not be dancing at the mehndi. I might do a little dance at her dholki since it will be all women. My mom said that once I am married and a part of their family it will not be an issue and I can do whatever I want …especially since their family IS the more hula gula type.

My dad actually calls dancing “mumbo jumbo”. lol… Funny Story… he was like … “there will be no mumbo jumbo at your wedding reception”. My friend happened to be with me when this random comment was made and she was like… “is mumbo jumbo a particular pakistani cuisine???” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OMG your fiance is a DOLL for getting you all the seasons of Desperate Housewives!!! What an AWESOME present!!! That was super cute of him!!! I want all the seasons to that show… and also Sex and the City!!! Ultimate girly shows… I luv them!

Yes you guys defently need to be extra organised bcoz of living seperate but don’t worry InshaAllah everything will work out just fine!! Defently start collecting early…I started when I got engaged..just little bits here and there..we dont want to end up like bridezillas at the end!!!

I wont be getting wedding planners…MashaAllah I dont need one…my mum has married off my brother and sister soo she has a fair idea of what shes doing and also we have a pretty close family…so everyone is always coming up with ideas for the wedding..My brother has already sorted the photographer/videographer/hall I have a Aunty who knows few people for decoration and she herself does amazing flower pieces..I someone for the mendhi/hair and make up… MashaAllah I didnt even need to look PR and it all came to me… But I understand with livivng in different states it would be easier for a planner and InshaAllah dont worry you’ll find a job very soon meri jaan..

Yeh my family is pretty strict..about this sort of thing…but saying this..of my engagement in PK ( Iwasnt there :() they did a dolki on the night of the function and there was a song about nani/masi etc dancing… and even they did a small boogie..lol but no1 else hahah was pretty surprised at that lol!! but it was nice in away bcoz I think it showed there happiness and joy! But defently no no about mumbo jumbo at the reception loool…we dont even encourage mixed mendhis…
