You HAVE to finish your sehri before Fajr times starts. You CANNOT eat or drink after the Fajr time starts

-
You HAVE to add 5 minutes when it is time for Iftari. Not adding 5 minutes will mean you are ‘breaking’ your roza when it was not even time for iftari

Re: ^^^ 2 myths about Ramadhan ^^^
The first one is actually in accordance to Fiqah-e-Hanafi.. I have researched on it myself… it refers to the start of “Subha-e-Kaadhib” it remains for about 10 minutes before “Subha-e-Saadiq” or Faj’r times start… one must stop eating at the start of Subha-e-Kadhib as per Hanafi madhab.
Agreed that there is a difference of opinion on the issue but I do not term it as a “myth”![]()

Doesn't sehri end when fajr starts?
Btw, what is the other sects view on the start of roza?
Re: ^^^ 2 myths about Ramadhan ^^^
What if you don't wake up for sehri, is it still roza?
Re: ^^^ 2 myths about Ramadhan ^^^
this is not a myth as far as i know! Sehri does ends just before fajr times start. Allah knows best.

If u slept with an intention of keeping roza in the morning but could'nt wake up, its known as "athpehra" in punjabi/urdu, so i think its still a roza if u dont eat anything in the morning and just read dua of sehri.
Re: ^^^ 2 myths about Ramadhan ^^^
about that smiley, is that you laughing at myth or people laughing at you
Beta HHL, aap kaa to ho gayaa beraa gharaq, if you were thinking all your life that #1 is a myth and kept eating after Fajr.
You know another myth. Some people think that actually you have to wait till Iftaar time to break your fast

Sahoor is described as a difference between the Fasting of a muslim and people of the book; and also a sunnah in which barakh is mentioned.... However, if you are not able to do it, your fasting is still valid.
Re: ^^^ 2 myths about Ramadhan ^^^
I don't know which family does the thread starter come from [or he has mischievious intentions about other sects?] since I don't get the purpose of the thread. Btw, the five minute thingy after iftar is not some farz but people do a couple minutes [our family does 1 or 2] just ot be on the safe side, since not every clock has the exact same time unless if you have an atomic clock.

...and eat and drink until the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread...
[2: 187]
Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim (R.A), when the above verses were revealed: "until the white thread appears to you, distinct from the black thread," I took two (hair) strings one black and the other white, and kept them under my pillow and went on looking at them throughout the night but could not make anything out of it. So, next morning I went to Allah's Messenger (S.A.W) and told him the whole story. He explained to me, "That Verse means the darkness of the night and the whiteness of dawn" [Bukhari]

That's the definition of Subha-e-Kaadhib in Hanafi Fiqh :)
