2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a 'daku' killing spree

“Dakoos” i mean.

I don’t understand how all of a sudden these dakoos have become so pussy that despite carryibg guns there were unable to do anything.

And look at the second incident 2 try to rob one on gun point, he kills one and the other escapes.

I find it difficult to beleive these stories. Daal meiN kuch kala hai

Re: 2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a ‘daku’ killing spree

This week has been quite shocking in terms of news about the public killing *dakus *and taking matters literally into their own hands.

Few days ago this created huge waves in the media;
http://paktribune.com/news/index.shtml?200486
And every single talk show focused on the incident that evening.

Is this the beginning of a new awakening triggered by an extreme of frustration against helplessness in the face of crime and delayed/denied justice? Could this spread out of proportion?

If you come to think of it, it’s not right, it’s absolutely wrong, but keeping in mind what extremes *dakus *go to in depriving and harming peaceful unarmed and unprepared victims/citizens, it eerily seems fitting.

^On yesterdays second incident of the kind; it’s sad that we never hear of medics or police getting injured trying to save citizens from the clutches of criminals and when it was *dakus *on the public’s mercy they remembered their duty! The joy!

The public always remembers the brilliant performance by the millions of police, medics and ambulances that stroll every nook and corner of city/country when they are most urgently needed, eg this recent one;

Re: 2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a 'daku' killing spree

Yaar Haris

Many policemen have been killed by Dakus, its not any starnage if they are afarid of Dakus too. I remember one particular incident when a Daku was shot and taken for dead. He had been hiding a gun under him lying face down on the road. When the police turned him over he opened fire and killed 4 policemen on spot.

I find it difficult to beleive that all of a sudden Dakus have become so wasy to be captured a killed by bunch of ordinary citizens. I am afarid that this may lead to some peopel killing innocent people by labelling them Dakus.

Re: 2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a 'daku' killing spree

You're right Icon, Policemen are humans too, but the job they have demands action in the face of danger which ordinary citizens cannot handle. They chose this profession voluntarily and are trained to be prepared to carry out their duties instead of being bystanders or avoiding trouble when they sense any.

Otoh, I think there's always room for doubt when it comes to unlawful killing as to whether the victim really was an offender or targeted out of enmity and labeled one, and thats the main reason why such actions by public can never be right and left unchecked, but then there's also no doubt about the fact that there are many types of robbers, from those heavily armed to the tooth down to those with just a knife. And, the area they're operating in is also a factor. Both the events during past few days in Khi were the type where they were cornered in narrow streets or crowded localities with light weapons, plus the level of frustration and encouragement among the masses is also a factor based on how they gather courage from each other's stand and past events against criminals and oppressive dakus.

And,
Just in from Geo that public severely beat up a daku in Lahore few hours ago.

Re: 2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a 'daku' killing spree

Beating up is quite a regular factor, when someone is caught. However, few killings have also happened in Lahore, like in a village near Lahore, the farmers killed four men who had shot a man. But 3 events in space of 2 days is fishy.

People have realized that they have stand up for themselves even if brutally, since if they don't they will meet the fates that people of Swat recently did.

Re: 2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a 'daku' killing spree

I was appalled to see ARY showing the lynchings and burning of these dakus on TV. I could not stomach it and changed the channel. Why do they show such gruesome pictures on TV? :(

Society in developing cultures is far more desensitized to violence. Notice the many CDs, DVDs of beheadings that jihadis sell everywhere in Pakistan. Most of our channels play to the same mentality.

I wonder what that kickback bush wannabe naazim mustafa has done to stop this, as this is happening on a daily basis now.

KARACHI: A suspected robber was on Saturday beaten and burnt to death by an angry mob at the Five Star Roundabout, North Nazimabad, while his accomplice was seriously injured. Two policemen who tried to rescue them were also thrashed by the public. Police said after looting a mini-bus of route W-25, the two robbers were fleeing when they were caught by the public who torched them.

The people responsible for burning the robber alive later said they did not trust the police and the judicial system. Had they handed over the robbers to the police, they would have been granted bail by courts and would have again started looting the citizens, they said.

According to the passengers and eyewitnesses, the two robbers had boarded a mini-bus of route W-25 near the Hyderi Market at around 2 pm. When the bus moved towards the Five Star Roundabout, they took out their pistols and started looting the passengers.

Later, they ordered the driver to stop the bus near the Remedial Hospital, and were fleeing when the passengers raised alarm. The passers-by caught hold of them and started beating them.

Car drivers and motorcyclists stopped their vehicles, joined the mob and started beating the robbers.

The car drivers used jack-rods, while the motorcyclists beat the robbers with helmets. Some persons took out petrol from motorcycles, sprinkled it on the robbers and set them on fire.

In the meantime, patrolling police officials on a motorcycle tried to rescue the robbers. One official, an ASI, was in civvies while the other, a constable, was in uniform. As they tried to rescue the burning robbers, the enraged mob caught hold of the two and started beating them. Mistaking the police official in civvies as being an accomplice of the robbers, they also sprinkled petrol on him and tried to set him alight.

Several police mobiles arrived and resorted to baton charge and got both the robbers who were aflame released from the custody of the enraged mob and extinguished the fire. The policemen were also freed. The four were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in private vehicles.

Afterwards, the angry mob staged a protest against the police and an anchorperson of a private TV channel. The mob alleged that the police officials were also involved in robberies. Some said as the police were bandit-friendly, they now believe in instant justice as the robbers have made the lives of peaceful Karachiites miserable. Many in the mob said what they had done with the robbers was justice and they had no guilt over it. Some of them said they were inspired by an Indian movie and also from the incident that had recently occurred at the Nishtar Road, Karachi, in which three robbers were burnt alive by the area residents.

The injured bandits were shifted to the Civil Hospital from the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where one of them, Danish, succumbed to his wounds in the Burns Ward while the other, identified as Imran, was in critical condition in the ICU. Both were aged between 25 and 30.

When contacted, Supervisory Police Officer North Nazimabad Abdul Rasheed Khan said the injured police officials, ASI Khalid and Constable Mohammed Altaf, were posted at the SP Office and working in the Nigraan Force.

He added that a TT pistol was recovered from the robbers who were the residents of Qatar Hospital area of Orangi Town. As no complainant arrived at the police station, FIRs were lodged on the behalf of the state, he said.

A senior police officer said on condition of anonymity this was a dangerous trend. He warned that people with enmity could torch their enemies claiming they were robbers. One should control this situation, he said.

Karachi incidents outcome of 9-year undemocratic rule: Shazia Marri
KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri has said the people’s reaction to crimes in Karachi is the outcome of nine years of undemocratic rule; the past government has caused so much harm to society that it has impaired people’s tolerance and they have lost confidence in institutions. Marri issued this statement on Sunday. She said that the new government was working to curb these incidents and crimes resulting from persistent unemployment. But it will be impossible to achieve this goal without the participation of the people, she remarked. online

I don’t see any reason to believe that by any chance Dakoos can be brave. A person who has weapon in his hand, is looting somebody who don’t have one, is not bravery by any defination.

These Dakoos should be burned alive and should be hanged to decompose.

Re: 2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a 'daku' killing spree

Well this is quite dangerous trend as it may lead to ethnic riots in Karachi.

Re: 2 burned alive and one shot dead; public on a 'daku' killing spree

Yesterday I heard they beat up the victims instead of the culprits by mistake.

I agree it is dangerous, and the same time, this behavious symbolizes that people do not believe in any state law or institution.

The way police is treating people lately and the Justice being a rare commodity in the country, i guess this behaviour is rationale and only way for the people to have justice for them selves... alarm is on....

Count Down Begins...

Thats just wrong, they shouldnt do this to dakus's

if daku's are stealing then killing is a crime too

why not leave it to police

pakistan ke in logon ko kuch aur tu ata nahi hai bus ulte seedhey kaam kerne zaror atey hain

Police walay apna hisa lay ker inhay phir say chor daytay haiN... and this dako's can kill anyone for a mobile and/or maybe just for fun.

Atleast this behaviour will make Daku think twice..

I guess the next will be Police and govt. bodies, if the trend continues, people will openly beat up ( if not burnd them) the police officers and politicians...

It is just their frustration which has turned violent.

well there are far worse people in pakistan then daku's

if they are to be burn alive then there is endless list of other freaks too

anyway no one has the right to kill the other
