2-3pounds in 25days? :(

Taking off that is! :frowning: I’m feeling desperate is it even possible? I’ve never been on a diet and have NO idea how to start what to eat and what to not?! Any help please?

Any little bit of help would be much appreciated.

Just to add.. I am not a meetha person.. not even chocos or anything of that sort so i hope shedding weight shouldnt be a big problem?

P.S Please don’t direct me to other related threads.. have spent like an hour or so reading them :slight_smile:

2 or 3 pounds is easily do-able, you do mean pounds an NOT kilos right?

I've managed to lose 2 pounds since the start of the week, by not eating carbs (or limiting them massively).

Cardio, cardio, cardio! Run/walk briskly for at least 30 - 45 minutes a day.

Eliminate all of your carb-laden foods. Keep the good stuff, like lean meat, chicken, fish, veggies, (steamed or raw), fruit, etc.

But get rid of junk food like cheese, sugar, butter, white bread, margarine, pasta, rice, etc.

Its MORE then doable just make sure you stay disciplined.

I lost 3 pounds within a week by doing the Cabbage Soup Diet.. it's not really difficult..

With the regime I'm following I'm doing low carbs high fat, so that the body has energy from fat, which it would otherwise get from carbs.

Gina what does the Cabbage Soup Diet entail?

Guys!!! I just checked my weight again and I actually need to shed 6lbs!!!! :( :( :(

Man I'm scared! I have few family events coming up by the end of March and I gotta LOT to do! How do you say no to food when ur out at someone's house? especially if they are desi aunties and u tell them i'm on diet so sorry..... can u imagine the rest scene? :o

Is it OK if I exercise and keep a check on my diet.. like fruits/veggies/plenty of water and nothing fried etc.. would it still work? How much do u lose with the cabbage diet?

wajeeha where u from?i have used amaltas a herb it works really.its available in pak easily.dont know abt the rest

eat slow..spread food in your plate, like have nan covering half the plate, one section of oen item one of another.

Or just tel them you were starving and ate just a little while back and are stuffed but its so yummie and can yo take some with you. brownie points bhi mil jayen gaye.

its easy Wajeeha, ..... very easy ... and its only 6 pounds in a month.......

Eat two times, Morning & Dinner.. .thats it..

and whatever you eat in morning & dinner make it half... and start doing any lil excersize... ...enough.. !

Well to keep your diet on track - if you know that you are going out to eat to a resturant or to someone's house.

  1. Eat something nurtious before. Like a pear, fruit - then you don't tend to over eat

  2. At someone's house at a dawat - instead of heading straight to the biryani - eat meats, daals, limit your carb intake. (bad foods are anything with maida in them - naa

You have to lose 6 pounds in 25 days - that is going to take some disipline but it can be done.

no man...eat the same amount but more frequently, when you eat less frequently your metabolism slows anyways. keep it going. smaller healthier meals and snacks.

once i lost 10 lbs in a month...20-40g of carbs a day :)

Have fruit before u go to any such dawat..head for grilled meat and fill-up on salads and soups!

you'll gain it back too, as that creates a carb craving in the body.

It's recommended to lose only 1-2 pounds per week. Anything more than that might cause sagging of skin. So, there are 4 weeks in a month....that means you can lose 4-8 pounds in a month. If you combine cardio (jogging/walking/jump roping) with weight lifting, you'll lose weight faster. Buy yourself a set of arm weights and while you're watching tv, do some weight lifts. Cut out unhealthy foods from your diet. Replace soda and sugary fruit drinks with water. Load up on water as that keeps you full and prevents overeating. And increase fruits and vegetables in your diet. Since they contain fiber, they'll not only keep you feeling fuller for longer, they will also provide u the energy to work out.

Don't worry, it's just determination and persistence. You'll get there!

one more easy thing.take 1 table spoon masoor ki daal and add 4 cups water. boil it untill it becomes one cup then add vagetables which u want like cucumber reddish etc. dont use starchy veg in it. use it in lunch dont eat roti or chawal in it only eat this in lunch . at night u can eat watever u want in dinner. i m tyrying this in these days

I drink plenty of water to keep myself full and normally before going anywhere I eat LOTS of fruits! :)

I don't have access to gym, but i have a treadmill at home.. what else can be done at home?

it's good that your using the treadmill as that falls into cardio work-out. If you combine weight lifting with cardio, u will lose weight faster. Just lift some arm weights as well. You can even do that while watching tv. And exercise for 30-45 minutes. You can do treadmill for 30 minutes and weights for 15 minutes. And you can also do bicycle crunches as those work your obliques and help reduce/shape your waist-line.

For now I was just doing treadmill and brisk walk. I can't continue treadmill for more than 4-5mins? That's MAX! :( I have to take frequent breaks.. i was wondering if its of any use or not then? I can do brisk walk for 30/40mins very easily..

I'll start doing bicycle crunches, don't have arm weights right now.
