Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
u sure u wanna know this? :D
some ppl might have horror stories to tell and u dun wanna imagine all kinda stuff while ur lying on ur labour ward!
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
Every baby grows and comes to this world differently. So, dont listen to the baby birth stories, which might scare you. Allah behtar karay ga..
BTW mine was an induced labor... :)
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
is the pain bearable?
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
Mine was induced with c/section after 24 hours of labor. Painful even after use of epidural. It didn't work on all my body. I ended up with infection and fever. Delivered with c/section after 2 hours of pushing and no success.
Reason :- Baby was not straight in the birthing canal.
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
They have started to scare you…and me…
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
Mine was born naturally with the help of pain meds and epidural. I didnt feel a thing for several hours. I slept through most of my labor. When it came time to push i didnt feel any urge to push so they had to tell me when to push and for how long. Also didnt feel the stiches i got 'down there' either. But when the meds wore off i felt very very sore afterwards. It was very hard for me to move around. I pushed for 45 minutes during labor and i didnt realize how hard i was pushing..my tailbone hurt like hell for 2 weeks. I felt close to normal 3 weeks later.
For me labor was a breeze but recovery was the hardest part.
My advice would be to ask for pain meds that dont induce sleep. I can only remember bit and pieces of my labor because i was in and out of sleep. I wish i had been more alert.
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
ok let me tell u my mothers . :D
i was a healthy child 8 lbs n delivery was normal . :D
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
I was induced too. Labor wasn't bad and not too long for the first child. Recovery was kinas long. I couldn't feel pee for like a day and a half, I just didn't feel the muscles that control urine. And that was the worst part. But I think the rewards of seeing your own child, holding him/her in your arms, and that even watching him cry makes all the pains go away and not to forget that motherly instincts that put you on cloud nine. :)
So dont worry and just wait for that precious moment cause there isn't ANYTHING in this world as exciting as your baby in your arms for the first time!
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
Snickers are you in the US or Pakistan? I ask because the induction of meds and pain killers as well as the process of L&D is quite different in the US compared to Pakistan.
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
does it help with labor pains if u have strong abs? i remember reading an article on how belly dancers pop out babies like "1...2...3...GO!!!" and it doesnt hurt them much because their ab muscles are pretty strong....
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
^^ exercising may help ease labor but strong abs only if you have any abs left after nine months of stretching. ![]()
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
Snickers every delivery is different. The important things to know are the signs of labour, the stages of labour, ways to control pain whether natural or drugs. I recommend a book called “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” it’s the must read book for every first time mom. It’ll tell you everything you ever wondered about and put your mind at ease.
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
saima is right.
every delivery is as unique as the MTB's body and ability to cope with different feelings.
and in the end, seeing your baby makes it all worthwhile!
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
when my niece was born [canada] my sister in law had decided to go with a mid wive, who was at her house during most of the labour, they lived really close to the hospital, and when she was about 7 inches dialated (sp??) they took her to the hospital where the mid wive delivered the baby. she had no drugs, and she was able to [if she wanted] go home that night. it was nice becasue she was REALLY comfortable in her own bed in her own room for the most part of it. and then the mid wive came everday for the next week in order to teach her how to breast feed properly, and make her comfortable taking care of the baby. insha allah when i have kids i would love to have a mid wive, cause you can get all the security of modern medicine at the hospital, but its much more personal casue you meet the mid wive during your first trimeseter, and really get to know her.
Finally congrats on the baby, i hope things go smoothly for you both before and after the delivery.
Re: 1st time delivery (normal)
It is painful but the pain is forgatten soon afterwards. Thats why females have more than one kids.
