murli with have to wait another day to go ahead of warnie and claim the record for himself. ENG are still trailing by 2 runs with 4 wkts in hand but they do have a long tail and its been exposed with sidebottom n collingwood at the crease. at one stage ENG were 150/3 looking to over take SL 188 and a possible lead of 120 and over. but quick wkts have changed all that. now even a lead of 50+ will be a blessing if nothing else.

Hoggard plays down the wrong line and the ball clips the top of middle and off stumps, sparking celebrations in the middle, dancing in the stands and firecrackers are set off all over the place. Somebody in the crowd has thought ahead and prepared a poster with Murali smiling above the numbers 709. You can't match his grin out there now, though.

ENG all out for 281, over all lead of 93. not much of a lead but the way their bowlers bowled in the first innings, if they can repeat that in 2nd innings then i'm sure they can make it a hard deficit for SL to knock off.
