Don't forget a certain Mr Vivian Richards. That guy was a bowler's nightmare even on lively tracks.
GA, u know i m a big fan of The KIng, Viv comes first then the daya light and then others.....what i actually meant was in last 15 odd years Sanath is 2nd best entertainer after wasim.
Wow Sanath the grand daddy of all power hitters ,the pioneer who showed the world how to make use of the first 15 overs in an ODI .Really a great who is very underrated in my opinion . He can destroy any bowling ,any pace ,spin or whatever .A great career .All the best Sanath .Enjoy ur life .
** Sri Lanka 188 & 205/2 (62.0 ov)
England 281
** Sri Lanka lead by 112 runs with 8 wickets remaining
He also has an average of 204.75 so far in 2007 ... so you might say he's in quite good form ... and a big improvement on his disappointing average of 69.00 in 2006!
61.2 Anderson to Sangakkara, 1 run, a gentle push into the midwicket region brings up his 25th Test fifty off 87 deliveries
sure they can. all they have to do is to keep murli at bay and they’ll come out with a FACE SAVING DANCE just like team pak. also ENG is playing in SUB-CONTINENT unlike pakistan.
PS: just for those who want to be PROUD of ASAD RAUF / ALEEM DAR COMBO…they are officiating in this test and man they both are giving horrid time to both teams. wrong decision after wrong decision. i’ve been following this match since day one and nearly 50-60% decisions have been wrong so far. shocking umpiring to say the least.
lets see how long pietersen survives
i think now sri lanka should be able to wrap this up
seems like a real 5th day pitch, not the one we had in indopak 2nd test where 5th day was as good as 1st
even with 6 wkts down, ENG is TRYING n TRYING HARD. atleast they have not gone into their shell and play boring n meaningless cricket just for the sake of FACE SAVING. i know probably they'll lose in the end but not without putting up a decent fight. thats what you need in cricket. not meaningless boring centuries to add to your record and average.

as i've said earlier, despite losing 6 wkts, they are still playing positive cricket. may not win the match but intent is there to make a match out of it. playing in sub continent is never easy for a team like ENG but they are hanging in there. there was a threat of rain awhile ago but thats gone now. SL is under pressure.
** Sri Lanka 188 & 442/8d
England 281 & 242/6 (82.4 ov)
** England require another 108 runs with 4 wickets remaining
last session of the day in progress. eng need 108 runs (19overs left) and SL need 4wkts to go 1 up in the series. maybe, just maybe ENG will go for the TRAGET. they sure are playing their shots and showing a bit of aggression. so for now all 3 results are possible [win/loss/draw]. interesting situation. :k:
a very stubborn partnership btwn bell n prior is broken by murli. it was doosra.
84.6 Muralitharan to Prior, OUT, he's got him! What a delivery that was from Murali, the doosra spinning past Prior's slightly wafty defensive and he's bowled
MJ Prior b Muralitharan 63 (147b 8x4 0x6) SR: 42.85
** Sri Lanka 188 & 442/8d
England 281 & 249/7 (85.1 ov)
** England require another 101 runs with 3 wickets remaining
balance of the match has slightly shifted into the fav of the SL.
not much left for ENG to hang on to. murli is again to the rescue. DOG part is funny though
What a knock from Bell. But just not quite enough. The end is nigh…Hoggard can barely walk, and is hobbling out there. He looks like he’s about to vomit, too, though I’d suggest that has less to do with his injuries…
86.2 Muralitharan to Bell, OUT, bowled him! A fine, brilliant delivery from around the wicket turning back into Bell who came forward a little tentatively and was beaten by the turn
**IR Bell b Muralitharan 74 (209b 6x4 0x6) SR: 35.40 ** **
There’s the dog! The dog’s back and he’s having a good old scratch. Nope - he’s had enough, and is having a snooze! Sangakkara chases the mutt away. “I’ve trained him well,” Andrew barks**
**Sri Lanka 188 & 442/8d
England 281 & 249/8 (86.2 ov)
**
England require another 101 runs with 2 wickets remaining
Oh. Dear. That, my friends, was a bit of a clanger from the umpire. But such is life I’m afraid
90.2 Muralitharan to Sidebottom, OUT, another cracker from Murali, the doosra, but Sidebottom got a massive inside edge. Nevertheless, up goes the finger and he’s sent packing
**
RJ Sidebottom lbw b Muralitharan 1 (15b 0x4 0x6) SR: 6.66**
** Never fear. Monty’s here** A left-handed Laxman, some say
another lousy decision by the umpire. but hey…pakistani umpires are allowed to make mistakes and give pathetic decision. u know why? bcos they don’t officiate in the matches pakistan play :halo:
** Sri Lanka 188 & 442/8d
