Akmal needs to focus and focus well behind the stumps. His honeymoon period after his debut ended when Pakistan toured England back in 2006. Since then it has been a downhill slide for him.

England is just getting started. They have come prepared for this series. Regardless, how weak Pakistani team is England at least know that Ashes is ahead and so is the 2011 WC. They are looking at the bigger picture.
Their real guns like Andrew Strauss and Kevin Pietersen did not have a good game and still they posted a big total on the first day against arguably one of the most potent attacks in the world.
Just think where this team is going and what Pakistan has in front of them to tackle.

Ouch, what a slaughter. Last I checked the score it was 118/4 and I was like hmmm not bad. Oh well, we didn't even get the chance to collapse yet. That's very much on the cards once England posts something close to 500.

Akmal needs to go. you just can't have a keeper who regularly makes such mistakes. even as a fan, it's a terrible feeling to know that your keeper is not safe and will drop at least a couple of catches. I can't imagine what the poor bowlers must feel.
we need to get a pure keeper in there who is safe.
I was a supporter of Akmal (as a batsman), but I think it's time to 'retire' him as a keeper, at least in tests. He still is a better test batsman (last couple of innings not withstanding) than what we have on the bench. It will be to Akmal's advantage to accept playing as a batsman alone.

i have never been a akmal supporter and have been saying this from day 1...this guy has been so damn inconsistent that you just can't count on him to get the job done! his batting wasn't too extraordinary in the innings against australia either...but when it comes to wicketkeeping..maybe we should give him a rest and try someone else...someone who wouldn't drop as many catches or miss as many stumps as he has!

By the way, I am becoming a fan of Eoin Morgan. This guy is innovative, has excellent temperament and a natural finisher. His couple of t20 and ODI innings against Australia, South Africa, and Pakistan last year and this year were breathtaking.
When I first saw him as an Irish player during the forgettable match against Ireland during the WC 2007, I never realized his potential. He will probably become the best English batsman in years to come and will be a threat, even bigger than KP, for opposition.

Mohammad Aamer to Morgan, no run, dropped! Farhat lets a regulation chance to slip go begging! Aamer did well to find the edge of Morgan's bat once again. This time the edge carried to the slips, where Farhat had set himself in the perfect position to take it... but didn't! That could be another costly lapse for Pakistan, and one really feels for Aamer
