Unfortunately, I think Salman Butt will play the same 11. I hope to see Shoaib Malik out but I dont think that will happen.

I dont know why they keep selecting Malik...okay fine Malik is a decent T20 and ODI player...but he is not Test material. He was never test material to begin with.

They should drop him and play Yasir Hameed...Yasir can come at 4 ahead of Umar Amin dropping Umar Akmal to 6 so he can have less preassure on him which should help him get a big score.

No point in playing Malik in test matches...his bowling is pathetic and his batting is useless.

everyone here is clamouring to drop Malik and bring back Hameed, maybe we have forgotten how his weakness outside the off stumps used to be his downfall. Also Malik's test average is 35.29 with 2 hundreds and 8 fifty's while hameed's is 34.52 with 2 hundreds and 8 fifty's. So how is Hameed better than Malik. If we want to drop a player and bring in another surely he should be better not same or less better than the one he is going to replace. While malik's two centuries were against SL, Hameed scored his against BD.

To his beneefit, Yasir Hameed’s last test match was 3 years ago. So maybe he has improved on his weaknesses. Also Yasir Hameed has at least scored fifties on foreign soil away from the sub-continent & WI. He has scored a fifty away in AUS/NZ/SA. Shoaib Malik has not been able to achieve that in AUS. We are talking about Flat Tracks of SL where Sangka scored alot of this double tons. Both Shoaib Malik centuries also scored in SL.

^ I am not saying we should retain Malik, all I am saying is that if we are going to drop a player his replacement should be better than him. At the moment I am not convinced that Hameed is a better option.

No doubt...Yasir had a tendency to play balls way outside the off stump and get caught behind...however he has been out of the team for quite a while...and at one point he was believed to have the best technique amongst players of his age group....

He has a better temperament than Malik for test cricket....Malik cant play the short ball, cant play outside the off stump and cant occupy the crease.

Maybe in the long run Hameed isent the best option...but he can definately do a better job than Malik....hopefully down the road we can get someone like Azeem Ghumman, Hammad Azam etc to occupy the number 6 spot.

You have to choose from what you have - at the moment the choice is between Hameed and Malik..and I think Malik is nowhere near Hameed in terms of technique and temperament.

If you are going to bring in someone to replace Malik, Younis is the best choice. But I think Butt/selectors have already made up their minds. They are going to stick with the same team.

Yousuf/Younis will be never called up i think so

Yassir and Malik don't play at the same positions in the batting order. If Yassir comes in Farhat or Azhar ali will have to make way.
Fawad Alam can replace Malik. I think Malik will perfom...just like Farhat he will extend our misery.

As for yousaf..he said 'If the country needs me, I am available otherwise I am retired' Very professional. After last test, I don't think the country needs him.

I don't see Younis coming back either but BUTT has kept his options open..First he wants to see how youngsters perform...Y'sare a backup plan for now.

Ideally, Yousuf should replace Malik and Amin should be replaced by younus. but world is not what we think it is.

Umer, Azher, Amin etc all need the experience of Younus and yousuf around them only if PCB can understand this and Y2 can behave better...
