1st Step: the engagement...

ok…i have a date …10th of September to b engaged inshallah…wich is 20 days before my birthday…we’r doin in early coz of Ramadan and the guy’s side being a bit pushy…so dont wanna make sussur jee naraz…:D…

time…11 in the morning…as relatives coming all over UK…they have to get back in gud time for work on monday…

doing it on Sunday not Saturday as was previously planned…coz half of reltives cant make it so had to move it on Sunday…

im not gonna show my face till everyones arrived…then my cousins and sisters gonna bring me down and im gona walk in to that song…‘ye kiya howa…tere mere piyaar ki baatein kiyoun dunniya ki nuzroun mein aa gaye’…(i think its summit like that)

then parents on one side and everyody gathered round we’re gonna place the rings…now the problem is…my 2 lil cousins…4 yr olds…there gona bring in the rings wearing white dresses probably…now i want the rings placed on cushiopns or on a lil hand made baskets…summit very small and elegant…

any body has any pix of that or any other idea?..im open to suggestions plz…

then the cake’s gonna come in on a decorated trolley…by my lil sister and my lil cousin…round 11-12 year olds…we’r gonna cut the cake and take pictures and music…then have food…

hmmm we’r thinking of putting up a marquee in the back garden…not sure yet…

any idea for the decoration of the room and stairs?..

plz let me know of any really nice ideas…it means a lot to me…i wanna make it very very special…inshallah

Re: 1st Step: the engagement…

Do you need to make a ‘thing’ out of bringing the rings in though? If you really do, then just have them on a ring cushion or something similar.

Decoration on stairs, either helium pearlised balloons or fairy lights perhaps? You can get lovely fairy type lights that are star shaped or heart shaped - try Clinton Cards. And I have seen someone use nice tinsel too, not the tacky red and green stuff but the nice posh variety that comes in muted shades.

Hope that helps.

Re: 1st Step: the engagement…

Congrats!! :hugz:

Umm, as long as someone’s watching the kids extremely closely then the idea of the 3/4 year olds bringing the rings sounds good…and the lil cushions sounds better than the baskets…

Re: 1st Step: the engagement...
