1st semi-final: England vs Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff -

Re: 1st semi-final: England vs Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff -

and ofcourse indians will take some jabs at us given our record in ICC tournaments.

you know what, if we are upset with such tweets, guess what, the best answer will be in the field. agar dam hai, tau India ko haraoSundayy ko. Indians will be automatically shut up. but with the kind of record and performance, where we have pretty much lost every match against India in in ICC matches since 1992, i dont know what to say… and those matches were not even competitive. we simply surrendered. yes, i am pissed off and embarrassed with this record and if that makes me anit-Pak, so be it.

Re: 1st semi-final: England vs Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff -

paraa jee thandi lassi piyo aur sunday da intezaar karo. We still lead India in head to head.

Re: 1st semi-final: England vs Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff -

aap mughay lassi palai jayeen from last 8 years… who cares about head to head. sir jee who dulha kiss kamm ka jo bara play boy banta hai mager suhag raat ko lassi pee kar so jayee?

you think i am unreasonable? even when indian team weak and when we had imran khan in power,we still lost to india in 1992 world cup…when we had our strongest teams with wasim, waqar, saqi, saeed anwar, inzi, yousaf we still lost in 1996, 1999, 2003 world cups. and then we lost in 2011, 2015 world cups as well. and then we lost to them everything in T20 world cups too. Won 2 Champion trophy matches but then already lost i think 2 or 3.

It was jacket and lower that I guess ICC has provided teams to wear in pavilion.

Bangladesh Cricket Team can still reach final if they rename Dhaka air port as “Final”..

What is happening here?

Re: 1st semi-final: England vs Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff -

This game had some similarities to the 1999 WC semifinal against NZ. We restricted them to a modest total and then followed it up with a clinical runchase

We blew hot in the semi-final
1st SF: New Zealand v Pakistan at Manchester, Jun 16, 1999 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

and cold in the final!
Final: Australia v Pakistan at Lord’s, Jun 20, 1999 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

By the time some people had finished eating breakfast, half the batsmen were back in the dressing room! My worst day as a Pakistan fan by a long way.

I hope Pakistan bring their A game to the final and don’t get too overawed by the opposition or the occasion. Half the battle is fought in the mind

Since the beginning of the Bayliss-Morgan tenure, England has promoted white ball cricket over Test matches. The propaganda was put about that England now plays ‘smart cricket’. To my mind smartness has a lot to do with intelligence. I saw nothing in England’s performance v Pakistan that suggested they were playing smart cricket. Man for man, in any sort of gym test, the English players could outperform the Pakistanis - but cricket is seldom just about athleticism or physical strength: strength ain’t smartness! There is a vital intellectual requirement too. This is demonstrated by adapting to the conditions and playing accordingly. Like it or not, England have become a team that has swallowed their own untested belief that they are a smart players; in fact they are the reverse: flat-track bullies just about covers it.

Can we stop blaming the pitch please. I was at the match. The English batsmen came out and batted like cowards. Whereas Pakistan imposed themselves on us right from the start.

The lows and the highs of following Pakistan. Sorry defeat followed by quite glorious victory! There is no other team like them, dare I say, in the whole of team sports. I was thinking maybe the Dutch football team is a close comparison, who exhilarating to watch at times but equally abysmal. Only difference is that Pakistan manages to win a trophy every generation or so. Also, at least the Dutch can still play in front of home crowds!
Mercurial, skillful, talented and wonderfully unpredictable. All those stereotypes and throwaway comments seem kind of relevant right now. I would love for some more consistency (and to beat India once in a while), but then victories such as this wouldn’t feel so sweet.
Now then, how the hell do we still produce these kind of fast bowlers? Even as a Pak fan, I am waiting for the moment where home exile and neutral arenas will cripple our fast-bowling strength. Hasn’t happened and I am genuinely shocked. That spell by our fast bowlers, around the 40 overs mark where the ball hooping round corners, I haven’t seen that in a long time.
By a country mile, Hasan Ali has been the best bowler in this tournament. His attitude and aggression with every delivery is his strength. Allied to his skills - seam and reverse-swing - makes him a very dangerous prospect. Junaid Khan is also proving to be a very canny bowler and wicket-taking threat. Ruman Raees showed decent skills in the PSL but even when I watched him then, I didn’t think he could do it against world-class batsmen. Glad he proved me wrong! I am half tempted to drop Hafeez (his performance today seals his spot for the next 2 years) and play 4 fast bowlers with Amir back. Playing to your strengths, and all that .
Fakhar has been great, quite brilliant actually. I love the way he takes everything on, even the short ball, just does not give a **** if gets hit. I am dreaming of a time when Sharjeel and Fakhar open the batting, now that would be serious batting at the top of the order. It just shows how mercurial - there’s that word again - Pakistan are. Deprived of their only credible One Day batsman, Pakistan are in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy.
So I will end with that word again, mercurial. Pakistan have just proved that they are every bit as mercurial as the world often says they are.

Re: 1st semi-final: England vs Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff -

I care about head to head, the indians never talk about head to head only about ICC tournament games, doesnt head to head mean nothing? Please clarify.

We have met total 195 times in international cricket, Pakistan leads 90 to India’s 62 wins.

Re: 1st semi-final: England vs Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff -

well i am not discounting non ICC matches but ICC matches have more memory life and will be talked about for a long time. yes sharja mianad six was a non ICC match and we still talk about it but it was more of an exception. i think at this point it is less of ICC vs non ICC and more of the fact that we have never beaten them in any world cup match in 40 years. if that dynamics was a bit more balanced, no one would have picked on ICC vs non ICC
