we all know that it happens…knowing someone on net and liking him/her soo much that you would love to meet them!
it can be a girl liking a guy/guy liking a girl
or
a girl and a girl/boy and a boy as friends meeting up
No matter how much in common these two people have…still it wont be easy for them to meet the first time face to face :scared:
any advice or comments from ur own or your friends experiances???

TAKE A FRIEND WITH YOU! Not because it's not safe (you have probably known that much about the person by now) but because the person accompanying you can tell you a lot about him/her that you may not notice due to being nervous or too happy.

yes ive been in this situation, it is very hard, no matter how long you know a person on the net, it could be years, you get to know their personality and stuff wich is good and you get to talk about things which generally you wouldnt talk about...but when you meet its like you forget everything and you start from scratch, because you have to get used to their presence etc...and it actually takes time, its like you are meeting a new person all over again! but then everyones situation is different - good luck

I met a guppan and I don't think we were scared or anything...lol... I guess just be yourself and meet people you are comfortable with. I have also talked with few guppans on phone and never felt scared or anything, actually it was like we knew each other for some time. So again same thing...be yourself and meet only those you are very comfortable with in your blog, msn, or whatever, and have some sort of common interests, etc

ohh these meetings can be both scary and disappointing from what i have herd,
please take someone with you , go to a safe place and always have back up ready ( the friend that you will take along)

Exactly a very good advice either take a frnd wid u or invite a common frnd along just be normal dun try to make an impression on the other person drink water n ave fun

@ thread: Don’t be afraid lol…like the person earlier said, take some1 with you. Sometimes the first meeting turns out to be really fun. I have talked to few guppy/guppan on the phone and it wasn’t that bad. Just take some1 with you and be urself. If you two are good friends on the net, U prolly will stay the same in real too

I met someone online and talked to him for 2 yrs before our first meeting in person. He lived about 15 minutes away from my house so it’s not like we went out of our way to meet or anything. We met in the parking lot of my gym right after I got done working out 
There were lots of people around and people driving in and out because I belong to a huge gym. Anyway we parked out cars next to each other..rolled down the windows and talked 
It was a spur of the moment kind of thing. He called me and asked what I was doing…I said I am at the gym…he said let me meet you there after you are done (he was familiar with the location of my gym)…I said ok.
I was a bit nervous but it wasnt too bad considering I didnt have time to think about it much. But yea.. I looked all sweaty and was a mess ..but that"s ok because he got to see the REAL me
My advice…never meet anyone you have met off the net alone. Always be with someone and/or meet in a public place whether it is a person of the same sex or not.

Not really related but close. We and some other people pioneered the channels Islamabad and Islamabadis on IRC. We had a meet in Hot Spot and was funny to see GanjaBaba with lots of hair. And events in the back view mirror appear closer than they are!

I met my first ever online friend after knowing her for 7 years. She was in Canada while I was in the UK for all that time. When my company moved me to Toronto we met during my first week. She was having a gathering of friends at her apartment and invited me over to meet people and make friends. Since we had known each other online for so long it was actually pretty easy to get along with her; though her friends were very guarded and a little freaked when they found that she'd never actually met me before.
Personally, when meeting people I've only ever known online, I'm a lot more safety orientated. I only meet them for the first time in very public places. The first person ever met was a guppy who I knew for 3 months - we met up at a train station in London and spent the day walking around the city.
