and it’s about time Pakistani media grew up and started being responsible. reminds me of the ahole “reporter” who interviewed Pak soldiers (the Captain Najam Shaheed case) who had been kidnapped by taliban in Swat. the reporter was so rude and insulting to the soldiers. the taliban animals accused the soldiers of spying, etc. the reporter seemed completely on the side of the terrorists and at one point accused the soldiers of being frauds. some days later these brave sons of the soil were killed by the bearded rats.

but the worst thing is that there is never an apology from the media for incorrect reporting. at least admit you were wrong and issue an apology. the state might have given gallantry awards to Captain Najam Shaheed and co after they were mercilessly butchered for not giving giving up. but Dunya TV never apologized for insulting the brave shuhada to whom we as a nation owe a huge debt. still makes me mad to this day.
similarly, Pakistani media will not apologize this time either about incorrect reporting. they're loose cannons and need to be reined in.

I agree 100%!!! The actions of a few should not be reason to condemn an entire nation. Instead of praying for the hidayat for those who have wronged others or even to ask for 'adl so that the gunah'gaars are punished, to pray for azab on an entire qaum is wrong.
Allah is the grantor of both mercy and justice - pray to him to punish the gunah'gaars and not an entire nation.

samb, that might be true, but media is also playing very important role of highlight things like this. If there was no media stuff like this would've been covered up and there would be no justice either. Its the media thats putting pressure on govt/courts, and in a way its also educating the public that we as society cannot tolerate stuff like this.
