Amazing how the religious MMA can turn a blind eye to the humiliation of females in the province and it takes an independent women’s organisation to bring the law ‘enforcers’ to book.
A 15-year-old girl, a resident of Qucha Dheray village near Pir Sabaq close to Nowshera in NWFP was abducted by six armed men from her house and paraded naked in the streets of the village, bringing back to mind the incident in Kot Addu last month when two sisters were paraded naked in the streets. But, in spite of suffering from such a painful mental trauma, the victim bravely lodged a complaint with a local court against the six men disregarding a warning from her influential predators.
The local police ‘failed’ to take timely notice of the crime. Fortunately, this case was saved from being forgotten by the timely efforts of ‘Aurat Foundation’, bringing it to the notice of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, appealing him to take immediate action against the affluent persons who humiliated her.
This shameful act was committed in the wake of NWFP Chief Minister’s statement at a public gathering that the MMA would block any move to amend the Hadood Ordinance and Blasphemy Law, and that the “positive effects of the unity of Muslims in Frontier were spilling over to the entire Muslim Ummah” while underlining the need for Muslim unity to defend the Islamic ideology. It was in NWFP that these influential offenders managed to avoid being charged because of the lethargic attitude of the law enforcers.
Where are the guardians of Islam and their retributions, when daughters of Islam are paraded naked in streets, to live with shame? Islam provides stipulations and stern chastisement to control carnal and animal desires, but the lack of enforcement of these results in frequent recurrence of such reprehensible incidents. Such painful happenings will continue in the society unless and until the authorities do more than pay lip service to taking action. The only way to curb these social and moral crimes is by taking immediate action and giving exemplary punishment, striking fear among the miscreants.
The President did well to denounce the practice of the horrific and reprehensible societal crime of honour killing prevalent in the country. But there is still a lot to be done and the president must pay heed to these shameful and demeaning acts by ‘influential’ criminals. Local bodies must be set up, comprising activists from legal and social welfare fields, which will monitor only crimes against women and pursue incidents with the local police while reporting them to the relevant ministries.
these ppl should be stoned to death in public places. they should be brought to the large cities of pakistan, the govt should invite the media and have these men stoned to death in public on camera in the downtown areas around the rush hours when there are a lot of ppl around, the names of their tribes should be decalred along with those of the tribal elders and influentials who are in charge of the area do defame them. this will make them kkeep control over their beasts. they should be defamed. as should be the local security personnel and govt officials.
and we ask why our nation is still backkward...this kind of stuff used to happen in the americas and europe back in the 15th century. this way we need another 500 years to be called civilized. pathetic.

What sort of authorities are in office in the NWFP that this sort of thing goes unchallenged and what qualifies these scum to be called policemen?
CM dont knock it. Stuff like this, worse, happens in Punjab, Sindh and Baluchistan. Its a national stigma instead of the provincial spin you seem to be giving it.

Agreed. This isn't an issue that can be pinned on one community as can be seen in similar episodes elsewhere. The point is the MMA are barking about blocking the move to amend the Hudood Ordinance while this stuff is going on in their own backyard with police turning a blind eye.
It's not enough for the President to talk the talk there needs to be some asses kicked publically.

The MMA has not much to do about this. If you look at the gang rape of that girl in lower Punjab. I believe it was an NGO that brought that to the press as well. None of the provincial governments care. Heck known rapists aka feudals are in power in all provincial assemblies.
Secondly the local police is to blame not the MMA in this case. As the MMA is not the police. If your sub-ordinates dont inform you, how can you at the higher level know what is going on?
I am not defending the MMA. They are a bunch of jahils regardless. But blaming them for actions not taken by the police is stupid. Its like blaming them for not forseeing this action. They cant control or affect it as they dont know about.
The actions are deplorable. These 6 men deserve to be shot.
On a seperate note, all MMA party members need to be shot as well.
