Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)
May Allah look after those who have suffered needlessly in this violence. I suspect the MQM has played into Musharrafs hands..he can use the violence as a pretext for a martial law. Something which will probably mean the game is up for Musharraf and will plunge Pakistan into a bigger crisis.
Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)
^ lol. So you are saying that absolves Ch.Iftikhar from attaending politcail rallies?
I am in no way a supporter of either Mush or the CJ but let me make it clear that CJ has so far not issued any political statement and he has certainly not addressed any political party or rally as such. I do not think he should be held accountable for the people who are supporting him. The opposition isn't following his directives, the decision to support him is entirely their own.

I am a supporter of Mush but I absolutley am disillusioned with this whole crisis. However, I do not buy your argument that CJ is not influenced by political parties. He may not have issued any statements but his hidden messages alongwith his politcially influenced allies have not helped his cause. He defied Musharraf, fair play to him. But afterwards all he has done is to rally out-of-the-court support for him and played into opposition hands who have not backed out of political exploitation.
I am really sad for this unwarranted loss of lives in karachi. It is a messy situation and no doubt MQM is the main instigant of this mess.
Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan
Of course the MQM has been involved in acts of terrorism previously, but the PML (Nawaz) leaders - who are anti Musharraf don't beleive so. Similarly the PPP has been responsible for thousands of extra-judicial killings, kidnappings and torture in Karachi as well. But the PML (Nawaz) are in the ARD alliance with them.

Ch.Iftikhar's leading counsel is none other than Ch.Aitzaz Ahsan - MNA of the PPP-P.
Also the concluding remarks of Ch.Iftikhar in the Lahore rally were “It is now in the people’s court”.
Just what a politician seeking election would say!
Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)
I maybe a less reasoning being, but when ARY talked to other citizens, prominent ones at that, like Anwar Maqsood, Talat Hussain (Actor) and Faisal Qureshi, they all said things to the effect that when the CJ knew how tantrum throwing MQM can be, and when peace, lives and property was at risk due to a clash, he should have reasoned well for the sake of the country, the city, the lost lives and delayed his arrival. I agree with them. The CJ could have decided better knowing how the MQM is...and knowing how other parties will play catalyst. Atleast someone should act responsibly, at least to save lives if nothing else...and in that regard the CJ was blamed by these three personalities as well...
I was watching these channels too but Haris what is the gurantee that the mayhem and all that ensued after CJ landed in Karachi today will not be repeated or replayed any other day marked for his address in Karachi. This was a clear case of unwise brinkmanship on part of the government.
Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)
For the last 6 hours MQM people are firing and throwing stones on its building. For last 6 hours aaj is asking government to provide them security.
Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)
As mentioned by others, u are truly delusional
28 people been killed so far, 25 of them from the ‘opposition’
You are fast becoming a joke

It is now obvious to all in Karachi, MQM govt Police is letting MQM commit it's killings unchallenged
Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan
typical of closet MQM supporters to come up with some kind of excuse for their killings

Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan
Silly Billy, you are just a trouble maker. You are not a Pakistani. You don't even live in Karachi :D
Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)

but i have no complain aginst MQM..as they are doing it since 1986....
i have a complaint against "Parahai Likhai Jahil" of karachi and hyderabad who vote them again and again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan
isn't the time come to move this thread to GS jokes !!!!!!
Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)
so musharraf is taking ppl from place to place and bringing them to so called "support" his cause. in lahore **** like this didnt happen. more than 25 ppl did not DIE. this just proves how much a human life worth to our all-mighty leader.. there has been so much damage caused. so much money spent on his campaign.. 30% of our population is BELOW the poverty line. what r we trying to do here? does he actually think he's running a country or wat. the protests in punjab and other places.. did we hear of even ONE injury? this whole mess they've created is so sad
Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan
if MQM is a terrorist party Silly Billy why is Mush allied with them?
political rival clashes ravage. this is pakistan, nobody is a saint only opportunists. nothing is black and white. Two scenerios are presented;
clashes happened at places where MQM is not in majority. others say that because they are ruling party, thus they blocked roads to dismantle the protest and are playing the puppet for President.
it depends what you buy. i believe both parties will start analyzing pictures and videos to prove their point. they will give speeches and mourn to project their vicitmizations. karachi will remain the same.
in pakistan, when you blame one party it ends up as a tragedy. be it mullah or MQM because their leaders never show up, but people, innocent people who are bound to their loyalties because of their past end up paying price. this will happen again and again. president and cheif justice will give speeches and innocent will shed blood.

I wonder where Kehkashan is in all this?

This is the most masoom post on this issue.
CJ has his fair share in Today's situation of Karachi in addition to MQM, PML(N), MMA and PPP. He was given the option to fly to Karachi high court from Karachi Airport to address the bar but he rejected that as he wanted to prove his political power by driving through Karachi streets. It was so easy for him to say to all Opposition parties “thank you but please don’t come to receive me and I’ll fly to Karachi high court from Airport and address the bar’s non-political gathering and I am not going to allow any political figure to be with me on my journey” – that would have been more appropriate for him
Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies (merged)
…and I am sure many images will come out of today’s violence, I’ll post all of those images irrespective of the party association. Here are some of the pictures that every political party has blood on their hands of course including MQM
and let me tell you I have seen the brutality of MQM, PPI and JAMAT first hand. They all out-did each other from time to time…
