The MQM and other political parties are known for their violent tactics. But is the CJ proud that he has reduced his wukla biradri to this level as well, just for his ambitions and ego?
i wonder how MQM will defend these killings... these people were not armed niether they were killing anyone... wonder y the "MUHIB-E-WATAN" and "MAZLOOM" party killed them?
The CJ must be quite happy. He is the force behind this political unrest.
He may never be remembered as a messiah of judicial deliverance and his aspirations to become a messiah of political deliverance very well might caste him into oblivion.
He should go out on the road if he's man enough and see what the game of politics really is in Pakistan. He's being a hypocrite in hiding behind his lawyers and their media stunts at the VIP Lounge at Khi airport now.
Any amount of decency would have made him stop and think and would have stopped him from being used by the parties as an excuse to create political movements. His stance and fight for right may be justified or unjustified, but right now its lives, property and peace and he's the culprit, it's not the govt killing ppl directly. Its political parties clashing in his name.
In the early days of the judicial protests back in March the pro-CJ supporters almost beat an Islamabad policeman to death. Then his supporters brutally beat up fellow lawyers who did not support them, and have even thrashed journalists. Now this CJ wades into Karachi, a city he knows full well has been a hot bed of violence and extra judicial killings in the past.
Even if we accept that the dictator is the worst that has happened to Pakistan, which by the way can never be a true assessment given the higher quality of *thugs *and *goons *our nation mass produces, where does the CJ's actions make him stand in comparison. If Musharaf is acting crazy, Iftikhar is acting retarded. If Mush is an opportunist, Iftikhar is a manipulator.
This is all highly absurd and unnerving.
Karachi is burning...
But even before Karachi, when there were no clashes between politcal parties going on as there in Karachi now, the CJ-supporting lawyers were behaving like bloody animals - towards their own colleagues as well.
Geo TV just showed a man dying ( I hope fainting) due to his injuries inside a bus in Khi. He had bullet holes on his neck...
Where does this put GeoTV on the professional code of conduct compliance for News Channels...?
With thugs like MQM trying thier level best to disrupt the peace with alleged governement support ( the crack down last nite was directed at all parties except MQM )
One of my firends in one of the hit area just called that motorist with MQM flags are firing bullets in thier area.(Guru Mandir)

Pagara fears martial law
KARACHI: Martial law could be imposed if the law and order situation worsens on May 12 when the chief justice visits Karachi, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) President Pir Pagara said on Thursday. “If there will be a massacre on May 12 in Karachi, there is no way out other than to impose martial law,” he said while addressing a press conference at his residence. “Martial law should have been imposed a long time before, but if two hundred to four hundred people are killed in Karachi, then there would be no other choice but to impose it. All those people who bought weapons after selling their television sets and refrigerators will be responsible [then].” Pagara reiterated his support for the president and said that the Pakistan Army was united under the command of its chief Gen Musharraf. He added that if martial law were imposed then Musharraf would enforce it.

6 MQM activists killed.
1 JI activist killed.
It seems the old rivalry between these two parties has turned quite bloody, with JI activists resorting to unprecedented murderous tactics.
^True. The MMA was in full prep and mood for a clash in the name of solidarity with the CJ. They had camps and loud speakers all across the city flaming the pro govt parties and citizens and challenging them to a showdown today. police had removed all camps on thursday. JI/MMA are equally to be blamed for this mayhem.

At least 15 people were killed, several injured and dozens of vehicles were torched as a result of violence erupted on the occasion of visit of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry to the metropolis on Saturday. Important decisions would be taken in a high level meeting, the sources said. The incidents of exchange of firing among the activists of rival parties were reported in Shahra-e-Faisal near Drig Road, Kala Board, Banaras, Malir, PIA Colony, SITE area and other areas. I don't know what to say to this situation... I think most of the guppies are here are residing in the foreign european nations and america.. I just want to ask them that how many times the govt. or ruling parties of these nations hold protest in solidarity with the govt... there were million people protest against iraq war and other international issues.. but never once the American govt. hold the rally against those protest...
Govt. always have the support by their work they never need to have protest to show off their hard work and progress. I remember seeing huge rallies of Peace activists and oppostions on iraq war in countries like britain, spain, france on the PTV...
I wander what should i say about the Pakistani govt. protest... i really don't have any name for it.. will like to have your suggestions...
Putting the blame of these killings on the opposition is just like a pupil putting the blame for his failure on the teacher...
no more comments... sad day, truly a very very sad day for every pakistani by heart. no matter whether the killed people are MQM, MMA or JI or what ever other party supporter..
ps. i m really really sorry if this post doesn't make much sense as i cannot just keep myself much cool to think coherently...
In western countries you never see a "Chief Justice" - who is supposed to be neutral and above any bias attend/lead opposition party rallies in city after city. The CJ has become the most active politcal personality in Pakistan now, and it's time he formed his own party rather than dragging the judiciary down to the street level for his personal ego.
KARACHI, May 10: The Malir Town nazim survived an attempt on his life on Thursday when his police guards arrested two of the four attackers. A press release issued by the Malir Town administration said that four men on two motorcycles, bradsnishing TT pistols, entered the lane of the town nazim’s residence at around 10:30am as the nazim came out of his house to go to work.
It said the attackers, who allegedly belonged to the Sunni Tehreek, rode away when the police guards of the nazim challenged them.
The press release said that the policemen chased the attackers and arrested two of them after a shootout near Mohammedi Dera. The arrested suspects were identified as Mohammed Waseem, son of Ghulam Rasool, and Waseem Ahmed, son of Abdul Karim, it said.
The police also seized two unlicensed pistols and a Honda 70 (DU-6932). The suspects are residents of Shah Faisal Colony and one of them had earlier been arrested in a case registered at the Al-Fallah police station.

errrr..was he also the force behind "political unrest" in Rawalpindi..Lahore Gujrat, Gujranwala or Peshawar? forget that..why go so far..was he behind the "political unrest" in Sukkur and Hyderabad? Why did it have to be the MQM's constituency? Why was there not a single person killed or hurt in those cities? What is different here? Let me know if u can't connect the dots.
