What is the story behind this 12 Bajna in Sikh community?

Now this story may not be historically accurate but this is what is believed in Sikh folklore

When Ahemd Shah abdali was returning from delhi having many women hostages, in a planned attack on his convoy sikhs recovered women, the attack was planned at 1200 hrs, at that time sikh cried "12 bajj gaye" to inform the ranks that time of attack has come so marching sikh contingent looked like indiscipline warriors, it is also said that pandits further makes jokes of it because they can't digest the rise of Sikh religion:D

Punda, is the word used for the pandits that are found on GangaGhats in UP, originate from brahmin title Pandey, Brits used Pandies as the first to revolt was Mangal Pandey.

Sikh taking intellectual revenge is blasphemous idea:D, physical revenge hota to le bhi lete:D

Pandey means specialist in vedas, Purans and Upnishads:) as told to me by my bhabhi, another pandey:D

This is one of the theories, the other is that sikh used to taunt brits by making their cartoons hence they came up with the jokes:D, now this also may not be historically accurate either:)

while it is interesting but isnt likely. i am not sure if they had watches back then and if people will cry the time or a normal war cry during a battle.
most prolly it came up from some joke few decades ago.

Whether this 12 bajna is a history that has been converted to joke or its a joke that made a history, Sikh community deserves all applaud for their bravery and simplicity. :k:
