while it is interesting but isnt likely. i am not sure if they had watches back then and if people will cry the time or a normal war cry during a battle.
most prolly it came up from some joke few decades ago.

But the sense of time of 12 baje, sun on top was already there, dopahar literally means doosra pahar, each pahar having six hours each:)

Whether this 12 bajna is a history that has been converted to joke or its a joke that made a history, Sikh community deserves all applaud for their bravery and simplicity. :k:

Even this country supported us as well, half of the community was partition displaced, its support from this nation that we came up, and even in dark days of punjab insurgency, a large section of government machinery stood by us, being less than 2 percent in population we have people in most powerful places and two CMs one in Chandigarh and other in delhi:k:

There are infact 8 pahars with 3 hrs each. in vedic system day starts with the sunrise, so usually when it is mid day it is end of second pehar.
time in the terms of hours, seconds and minutes is new for us. back in the days people had lot of time so they measured time in hahars instead of hours. now a days every minute is important .
ironically first clock (water clock) was invented in india.
