One more thing is that we lost the support of Kashmiris by our backing of such khawarij groups. Kashmiris earlier wanted to be a part of Pakistan, but after what Hizbul Mujahideen etc. did, their majority wants to become an independent country.

This is something that their supporters need to understand, that why general public of those areas (where these kind of groups get some sort of power) develop sentiments against them after a while. Kashmiris supported these “mujahideen” in the beginning but when they started slaughtering them they lost support.
