Damascus: Around 1,000 members of the Pakistani Taliban have been killed in clashes near the Syrian capital city of Damascus, a report of Iran’s Press TV says.
**The report said Saturday that the bodies of the Pakistani Taliban members, who were killed during battles around Syria’s International Airport near Damascus, have been buried in mass graves.
**
Reports further indicate that the families of those Pakistani Salafists sent into Syria have been staging demonstrations, calling on the Pakistani government to provide information on their whereabouts.
Many Salafists from Pakistan have been illegally sent into Syria through the Saudi and Qatari intelligence services, the report claimed Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
**A recent UN report has revealed that militants from 29 countries have so far filtered into Syria to fight against the government of President Bashar al-Assad, most of whom are extremist Salafists.
**
Damascus says certain Western states, especially the United States, and their regional allies are fueling the unrest.
They have got many places to fight now, till 2001 there was only Afghanistan and Kashmir. Now they are operating in Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, Mali, Sudan, Somalia, Syria and Yemen etc I wonder how come their supply doesn't run out. Or maybe it has, that's why they are using Chechens and Dagestanis in Pakistan now.
This menace is not going to end if their supply line is intact. these professional jihadis are not only a danger to the peace of this world but also to Islam also.
1000 people? That number is extremely high from an on-line media source where there is no serious fact-checking. If a reputable media organization says otherwise I won't believe this to be true.
^ So you tink they would have sent a delegation of 10 armed men to turn the tables on Assad? And they are lots of animals in the TTP, so they can afford to take up as many foreign assignments as possible. Secondly, the TTP cannot afford to see its funding channels drying up...so anything for those foreign intelligence agencies that feed them...
They just want Jehad opportunities. When their own country cannot provide them with sufficient Jehad opportunities they will have to look for them abroad. You cannot blame them.
The Jehad economy has been in recession of late in Pakistan, while there is a surplus of Jehad-graduates being churned out by educational institutions.
If it is true, it is a very dangerous game playing by army/ISI, finance by SA. This hell will come back to haunt common people of Pakistan sooner or later. It is the duty of Pakistani government to clarify the position. TTP is haraam by product of Taliban of Afghanistan created by ISI. Pakistan Army has more like become mercenaries getting blood money rather than professional army safeguarding security of the country,
As a sequel to this news, TTP fighters (both foreigners as well as Pakistanis) with a lot of experience under their belt are heading towards foreign lands to put it into good use.
In mid-February, an observer with the Arab League in Homs told AFP that “many foreign fighters,” including Pakistanis, Afghans, Lebanese, Iraqis, Sudanese, Libyans and Yemenis led most of the fighting and “dominated everybody.”
Harling dismissed that as fantasy.
“It is a product of his imagination. I do not see how foreigners at this stage of the conflict would impose anything” on the Syrians and “I do not believe that they are many.”
Harling’s views were echoed by Karim Emilie Bitar from the French Institute of International and Strategic Relations.
The proportion of foreigners “is probably very slim,” said Bitar, while warning that it was “likely to grow now that Qatar and Saudi Arabia have openly announced that they favour militarisation of the Syrian revolution.”
^ Saach News has quoted IRAN Press TV for this particular news which our friend didn't like. Other than that there are sources which depict that indeed Pakistani militants are moving to greener pastures for utilizing their skills better.
if true it is great news. 1000 pigs killed hope more will follow them.
SAD SAD SAD!!
I wish I could show you what exactly Iran backed shia militant groups are doing there. You should have atleast basic human courtesy to use proper words for dead people and blame those hidden forces which are using our simple-blooded brothers for their wrongdoings.
I am NOT defending TTP I just want you to be realistic.
