Actually, Pakistan is in the middle of war zone, and there are people who are exploiting the situation, but things are not as bad as what you see in the media, especially Pakistani media. Yes, 10 people got killed, very sad, bad PR for the country, but there are 180 million people living in the country going about their lives that no one is talking about. My family just came back from Pakistan & they had fun times (minus the power outages) and I’m planing to visit visit Galgit next summer (hopefully). This incident hasn’t deter me from going there.
Btw, your chances of being killed by terrorists in Pakistan are lot less than getting killed in a car accident, or plan crash or for that matter food poisoning (ok the last one is not true for visitors from west), but you get the point. So, there is no point in overreacting or ranting on and on about how Pakistan is the worse place on the planet because that is simply not true.
