When Smashing Pumpkins folded, there was talk of “the emotional journey being over” and Billy Corgan promising to take a long vacation etc. The thing that I was going to miss the most was Billy Corgan’s whiny buzzsaw vocals.
But he didn’t. Catching him and Zwan on SNL tonight brought back memories of that inimitable music in a fresher package. Unlike Miandad and Jordan, his is one comeback that promises something, even though he’s emphasized that Zwan are “in no way going to be a variation of the Pumpkins journey”.
know what ya mean seven, it's almost nostalgic hearing Corgan with a new outfit, even though he managed to convince the drummer to join him too.
They'd prolly have been mah fav as well, had it not been for some mother in ireland giving birth to this 'Bono' fella. "Until I Die.." 's a good tune, although it doesn't get better than 'Ava Adore' for me.
