I recently bought a HP notebook ZV 5000 pavilion series .base Ram was 256 mb.Now i want to add 256MB ram module but dont know from where to buy .It is expensive in New Zealand so i would like to buy it online from US prefrebly HP
but the problem is i dont know exactly will the ram module work with my laptop as there r lots of technical terms to understand so any help regarding following things will be much appreciated…
from where to buy online? …should i only buy directly from Hp

Do note that there are several types of ZV 5000. www.Crucial.com is the best site, IMO, to locate the right RAM for any computer. Explore the site to make sure you are getting the RAM for the right computer. They also provide tips on how to install it.

Now there r lots of online retailers offering that for USD 46 while its not avaliable in Newzealand . so i am defintly buying online .Now which is the most trusted online seller ? or should i only buy it from HP( hpshopping.com) caz someone told me that only ram supplied by HP is guaranteed to work with my laptop.
Check HP's prices for comparison. Crucial is fairly reliable, though. I upgraded memory of my home HP computer by buying it from Crucial. Ofcourse, that is a desktop, which is infinitely less complicated than a notebook.
If Crudial is saying it would fit then it will. Ofcourse u need to know the exact specs for ur laptop. My Vaio laptop has a brother model which has a 'V' missing and that little piece makes it only go upto 512 mb. Whereas mine can take 1 gb memory.
yes you are rite baba ...compatibility is an issue here.I have checked a lot of websites and theres no contradiction in claims as to which ram wud suit me. Now its costing me 100 NZD to get it from US.
ALso i be intersted to know specially from laptop users about there ram upgrade experiences .caz i wanted to be sure before buying .
ANd KINGSHAH sahib if u can get me that ram for less than 50 NZD then give me a call.....( btway is it sajjad , Hayat , or Sohail ????)
