Okay now that your here good news is your probably not one of the walking dead yet… or are you?
Such is the modern world we live in today that if we see images of mass poverty and fammine in Africa with children dying all the time right in front of our screens at home on the TV, or those hundreds of victims of wars, not just the dead but the displaced.
Or perhaps when we read the news paper and hear about people dying from illnesses in the developing World or about how rights and deprived from those who are most needy…
Why do some of us seem blind to this… Why do we not react in any way either emotionally or actively by donating money or perhaps taking up support for such causes that aim to help these people.
Yet when it comes to watching the latest chick flick or bollywood/hollywood tragedy which is 99% of the time complete fiction whole audiences men and women young and old are brought to the edge of thier seats and often moved to tears.
Are we as a human race losing our senses or are we slowly turning into walking corporate soul slaves who have no hearts and minds, we cannot even find the smallest link of empathy for the real life tragedies. Yet so many among us will cry like babies when we watch Twilight or some other Modern cinema garbage…

If it does not affect your life, why should you care? Atleast, that is how some people think. A far from your bed show.

Sheep-behavior. Following the masses. Media hype.
Shame people think this way, we all live on the same earth and yet we start to pick and choose who lives and who dies. What gave us that right in the first place? Are we any different to those who kill others at the drop of a hat? Surely our inactivaty proves just as fatal as the one who shoots the bullet or draws the knife.
As for the sheep like behaviour again how sad that while many die like cattle driven to thier deaths by evil masters, herds continents away are watching mundane things and not realising that they too are being herded by a few ruthless people. What apathy this world has come to know.
We can see further than ever before with our artificail lenses, our artificial screens can produce a million million more colours than ever before... yet people still look at things and fail to see the problems and still people treat the world as if it were black and white.
So with all these advances in science and technology you would assume the human race has got better right?
What kind of advancement can be so utterly useless that it has not helped us in the big picture, we can treat illnesses but there are more ill people than ever.
We can paint a million pictures and manipulate images to our own needs yet we cannot paint our own homes becuase its too much effort and we cannot create anything to bring the colour back into peoples lives.
We have more ways to get around today but much fewer people have truly traveled beyond thier comfort zones...
We are turning into heartless, selfish *******s. Well some of us are. Some of us doing something about it.
That we are, and one salutes those who have the courage to stand up and do something. You dont need to be John Rambo or Chuck Norris to save a persons life, how hard is it for some of us to look after the less fortunate.
I think there are some people who cannot learn things of this world even if they had 10 lifetimes and there are others who try so much to help those around them, and who cannot enjoy even half a normal life... so many good people fallen by the wayside. One does not know for whom to weep, the ones blind to the world around them or the ones who die trying to make things better for others.
But progress in technology does not mean progress in attitudes and behavior.
When I hear announcements on stations that the trains have a delay because a person got hit by a train, people start making comments such as: “**** now I will be late home, why couldn’t that person jump infront of a train somewhere else.”
And people (not all) make such comments every time that it happens. Hearts have gone black.
So what if you reach home a bit late? Somebody died. Even if it was suicide, doesnt make it less of a tragedy.
Or the so called funny comments on sad news stories about people who died.
I read this title and thought it was gonna be asking how we would behave if there was a Zombie Apocalypes. Honest to god. Someone open this thread now.
