zombies

There was once a nation who’s people were smart and very hardworking. They had rights to feel, think and speak freely however they liked. No individual could be told how to think or feel, or when.

Unfortunately though there came a time when a few people in power decided that its time they started dictating to the masses how to feel and think. So they made a rule that on a certain day of the year all the citizens of that nation will think, feel and act just the way they were told to. They started with a few people and soon the whole nation turned into pretty much zombies. Now every year on that one day people would automatically think, feel and act just like they were told.

The people in power then decided there need to be more days like this. They then made up more such days in a year. Citizens of that nation who had already become addicted to being told how to feel or think loved the idea of having more days of being told what to do. So more days were added until they had about 10-12 such days in a year. They just loved being told when to do what and feel how. No one ever questioned the legitimacy of all these ‘days’. No one cared to dig out the history or significans of these ‘days’.

If ever one individual dared to challenge the legitimacy or history of these ‘days’, or spoke out against this mindless brainwashing, he or she was scorned at for being such a sissy. Ever if someone dared to uncover the baseless history and origins of these ‘days’ people would still scorn that individual for being such a spoilsport.

No one knows what happened to that nation. But there are no prizes for guessing what would happen to such a nation either. A nation of people who arent bothered that someone far away, someone sitting in a boardroom is deciding how everyone acts/feels and when. They just liked to be told what to do and theyre happy obliging.
