Ive started watching Zindagi Gulzar hai .. watched first episode yesterday .. looks good .. I just finished watching Humsafar and absolutely loved it! amazing drama .. Im watching ZGH as its got Fawad Khan in it :P

This epi was a treat to watch. Fawad Khan was superb, from Islamabad ka mausam, to calling his family, to talking to kashaf on the phone.
Love Sidra!! Her spontaneous smile when she realizes she's talking to zaroon was one of the many laugh out loud moments of the episode. Can't wait for next week.

Absolutely love this drama...in some ways even more than Humsafar. Fawad's acting as zarun is awesome and of course Sanam Saeed as Kashaf is fantastic. However I was not crazy about last nights episode. The only treat was Sidra when she was talking to Zarun and absolutely love Nigar. I have seen her play alot of cheap roles but she is perfect for this particular role!

Humsafar was quite emotional like Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan. Same thing happened; Saas ne bahu par bad chalni ka ilzam lagaya apney baitey to uss se door karney keliye. But this one Zindagi Gulzar Hai has quite a realistic approach.

your right oedipust Humsafar was emotional .. but I absolutely loved it, it were sooo touching .. lol i cried soooo much watching it .. I just couldnt wait to watch more! superb drama! .. I dont really watch alot of pakistani dramas the only one i watched before this was Khuda aur Mohabbat and again simply amazing!! loved every minute of it!! lol I cried in that one aswell .. these are sort of dramas I love! :)
ZGH is different to Khuda aur Mohabbat and Humsafar .. Its good so far Ive just watched up to episode 11 .. its not emotional though .. not touching .. its ok .. let see what happens.. so far so good.

I really like ZGH but i can't help but look at the many loopholes it has. They should take the viewers along instead of making us guess what happened:
1 - We know Zaroon is giving cards for his sisters wedding & next thing we know she is married and having problems. There should have been at least 1 little scene to tell us that she got married.
2 - They showed Asmara & Zaroon having problems but didnt clearly tell us when and how they broke of.
3 - We know Zaroon and Kashaf both want to apply for CSS exams. They are still in university and suddenly without any notification university ends and Zaroon ends up in Foreign Services. Fine, they do that but just a little text in the corner saying '1 year later' or '6 months later' wouldn't have done any harm. Just wouldn't break our flow of watching.
4 - We never came to know that Kashaf didn't give CSS exams the first year when Zaroon gave. We weren't told a year had passed before she got admitted in DMG.
There are many more such abrupt move ons where views aren't told something happened, we have to assume on our own. I just don't like that. They have spent 16 episodes on getting to Kashaf-Zaroon's wedding. Like they rushed Zaroon's sudden new found love for Kashaf, I really hope they don't ruin the end by rushing the entire coming scenes because these last 4-5 episodes will finally be those when Zaroon & kashaf might be civil to each other and we as an audience want to enjoy that instead of guessing what may have happened.
Just my thoughts!

DaffyDuck .. I totally agree! at one point I thought I had missed some of the episode as it were jumping from one thing to another .. all 4 of your points are right as that's what I thought!
by the way how many episode have you watched so far? Im watching it on youtube thats why :)

Completely agree with you DD! That's why kashaf is getting her annoying because I just want to see a bit if romance before they end the drama!

agree with DD there were so many places where the direction was extremely bad. i still believe this drama should have been directed by MJ. she did a superb job with Damn and Mata-e-Jaan was just phenomenal. Her new drama Rehaai also looks really promising because of its thoughtful casting.
there were so many powerful scenes in the novel that sometimes i cant get over with these new additions in the drama. If there is a better explanation from the writer or the director then as a viewer I am willing to accept these loopholes otherwise from a critics POV and also Umera's avid reader, i am extremely disappointed.

I really dont see how she will end up with zaroon but uff she will isn't she. If he was a guppy would all that khayalat, guppans would be throwing him out the gsportal door but since its fwadkhan who is so well dashing, its all okay. He really acted like an idiot, it was almost inforgivable how he raised his hand on her and yet us larkiyan are liek uff zaroon hope u end up with kashaf. Fine I want him to end up with kashaf too. Usama needs to fly off to "the states" and love there even though in all honesty,he deserves to be with her.

Exactly - I keep wondering if i missed a scene or an episode! I wish Sarmad Khoosat had directed it, he would have put a lot more essence into the relations. Nonetheless, worth watching but tired by now .. It would be the 18th episode by the time they will get married and then bam something something happens and the drama ends!!
