There is no better way to do zikr than by saying namaz properly with your full attention towards Allah and show complete submission to Him by following the uswah of Huzur:saw: in all the acts that you do in your day-to-day life.

Dhikr has to come from the heart. You have to find yourself a corner and exclude yourself. Make sure you have wudhu and your are clean etc.. Just start by saying Allah..the kalima..alhamdulillah,subhanallah,allahuakbar, allahu...say the names of Allah...read surahs from the quran, make dua for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).. they say that when you do dhikr by saying Allah's name, your tongue automatically starts producing honey.. :)

i have heard a hadith ever since i was very young. it is from bukhari - i am unable to quote it exactly - but it mentioned that Allah swt despises a meeting, where muslims meet, but do not mention His name. and when they remember (zikr) for Allah, the angels converse with Him about the people’s good deeds.

i’ve printed it out, and i often glance at it. it is 81 pages long - BUT it is very good enlightenment.
