Ziba in Cali......

Anyone here go to Ziba in Los Angeles area??? Specifically the artesia location? Tell me who do u go to for face threading? Nilofer is really good…but she is always so busy…its almost like an hour wait or more for her.

Re: Ziba in Cali......

I always see it in the West Side Pavillion Mall on Pico Blvd. but I've never gone in. It seems to me that I could get just as good an eyebrow threading from a smaller, less well known place. But who knows maybe I'll give it a try. I usually go to a small place on Venice Blvd right by Asia Foods.

Re: Ziba in Cali......

ya they r pretty expensive....and they r raising the price....i don't know of very many other places around here that would actually do a good job...not that ziba is the best.....but i just need to explore....a lot of ppl started threading around LA area cuz of Ziba I believe.....

Re: Ziba in Cali…

*****Ladies, curious to know how much u pay for eyebrow threading there:) i’m sooo glad i do my own eyebrows…i feel for the girls whom have to get them done from outside religiously:(
******threading has become soooooooo common among goris, i remember seeing on tv this guy that does eyebrows for celebrities for $90 but then that’s cheap for them. and then they also showed a gori doing threading:O in her salon here in CA. I was like omg and  at the same time.

***we’ll be visiting LA shortly :hula: what r some of the places worth check out (i do love ******shopping&eating(i know it’ll probably have to do window shopping there;) ***
i know there is Rodeo Drive…

Re: Ziba in Cali......

Ziba is i guess a desi salon......since most desi's work there.....Artesia is located in Los Angeles area.....in southern LA.....about 30 to 45 mins from Beverly Hills area....Not too familiar about San Jose area. And Ziba did create its own chains around the LA area....i think they have 5 or 6 salons in various locations. They charge $9 for eyebrow threading (actually starting on Oct. 1)

LA has a ton of good halal restaurants....they have Mas Chinese restaurant and Hatham...both of which i tried and are really good.
For shopping there r a ton of malls around here that have nice things.....Beverly Hills Mall, Brea Mall, Cerritos Mall, Costa Mesa, Fashion Island, etc.....go online and see the one that looks most exciting to u.

Re: Ziba in Cali…

Faryat, Ziba is an Indian salon chain, that first opened 20 years ago in Artesia, CA. Artesia a suburb of LA known as “Little India.” That’s the major hub for desi clothes, jewelry, groceries, music and video, knickknacks, etc. The owner of Ziba used to have a lot of celebrity clientele back when Indian things were getting in fashion (she’s done work on Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Liv Tyler, etc). Now they’ve opened up a bunch of salons through SoCal, and they’re best known for threading. In LA, even at other desi salons, expect to pay $7 to $9 for eyebrow threading, which I think is a pretty cheap price. (Yeah, it’s not the $5 they charge in Jackson Heights, NYC, but what can you do…)

If you’re coming to LA, my most favorite place to visit is the city of Santa Monica. Lots of good shopping (check out Third Street Promenade), lots of good restaurants, and you’re right on the beach with a classic, carnival style pier. Malibu is just a short drive away.

I also am a sucker for old Town Pasadena, the Grove (next to the Farmer’s Market), and if you want to do trendy shopping (Rodeo Drive is for old ladies and tourists), go to Melrose Ave, Robertson Ave, and West Third Street. If you want a more affordable option, any of the malls pyaari mentioned are worth checking out. South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island are my favorites, but they’re in Orange County. In LA county, Beverly Center is worth checking out.
