I just saw a documentary on CBC highlighting the last three years of Ziad Jarrah’s life – one of the suspected 9/11 hijackers… needless to say, its really troubling to see such a marked transition in someone’s personality. An Imam from Hamburg called him a “weak” Muslim in only 1998/1999 because he was hardly ever interested in attending prayers at the local mosque even though he practically lived beside one ; his landlords described him as a congenial and agreeable lad. Just hearing people who knew him talk about him in such a way, its really hard to believe that he committed such a heinous act – Wallahu A’alam.
