Zia’s decade of darkness

Yes that why he had to hold a fraud refrendum in which he hid behind the religion to get himself leected and that also by rigging the elections. Enough said. He was and will always remain the most unpopular and third rate ruler we had.

His achievements: Drug culture, ak47, MQM, Killing of an elected leader, Dividing the nation on sectarian lines, promoting people like Anti Pakistan GM Syed just to counter PPP in Sindh, Creating the extremisim culture for which Paksitan is paying heavily today, murdering thousands of Palestinians on the say so of the Jordanian king. Want to know more about his corruption, I personally know about his begging letters to King Fahad of Saudi Arabia asking money for his son and son in law further studies in UK. He did more damage to the image of Islam and Pakistan than anyone else. These are my personal views.

yeah bro, ummm whats wrong with Islam? Nothing. But when the state STEALS money from you under the label of Zakat I have a problem. When his establishment banned free market banking I have a problem etc etc etc etc

dear i think we are discussing zia regime here and not basic principles of shariah. i wud appreciate that we shud stick to the topic.

ur reply gives me reflection that u r non muslim. so i tell u few things about zakat so that u can have better idea about zakat and Ushr Ordinance.
in islamic history even in the era of prophet and first caliph hazrat abu bakar siddique (may allah be pleased with him) zakat is collected from the differnt parts of arab and deposited in to the bait ul maal. government wud spend that money on the poor ppl. even it was state responsibilty to ensure that rich people were paying zakat.
so saying that government steal money is not correct in the sense that u r pointing corruption is distribution of money........ so principally collection of zakat is complied with shariah.

further to inform u that zakat committee works in pakistan and helps the poor. my grand father was the zonal chairman (honorary post) of zakat committee in rawalpindi so i have idea of this process.

so u cant blame zia for corruption in zakat system as he has passed away 2 decade backs. ( further to inform u as far as i know govt deductions zakat on bank deposits only. for rest of the wealth u have ......... u will have pay it ur self.) few years back SC held that if a person dont want to get its zakat deducted he needs to mention in undertaking and its zakat will not be deducted by the govt.

as far as free market banking allegation is concerned he just introduced the concept that bank will not charged the interest compoundedly (to ensure that bank wud not able to exploit the borrower in financial trouble ........ that rule still exist and pakistani banking industry have made a tremendous progress in the recent years and no one have issue with change made by him) and thats all.

what else he did that hampers "free market banking" ............. i m eager to know.

regards

Re: Zia’s decade of darkness

ffs, im not some retarded non muslim tool. i know what it all means. I still believe in CHOICE. I MAKE THE CHOICE OF ZAKAT. I MAKE THE CHOICE OF MY BANKING SYSTEM....YOU SEE....I...."I"....NOT THE GOVT...NOT YOU.....NOT THE BUREAUCRATS.....NOT THE LEGISLATORS.....>NOT THE PM......BUT ME.

ffs, is freedom anti islam? am I missing something here?

Re: Zia’s decade of darkness

^ Ofcourse, a lot of people like you made the choice for the banking system that recently failed.

Its an illusion that YOU make choices ... anywhere!

when in an election there is only person as a candidate poll turn out is always low as ppl know that there is gonna no change in the regime. like in Hala there have never massive campaign during election as everybody knows that Makhdoom Amin fahim will easily win.

the same thing about refrandum of mr mushharaf. my sister went to cast the vote and saw a person designated there stamping yes on the ballet books.

further ppl of Pakistan are used to of military regime and they knew that he would remain in the power coz there was void of leadership in that period and zia was US favourite coz of his prominent and leading role in the afghan war. further it is not true to say that zial ul haq marhoom was not popular. he was very popular in all the provinces specially in NWFP and Punjab.

due to creation of MQM in sindh that has soft corner for him so he had no real opposition from the general public except for the PPP (who had got no successor after ZAB capital punishment granted by the court in a murder case.......... her daughter BB was too young to lead her party.)
further ZAB autocratic style and his habit of manipulte the politicians and his corruption makes the polictican unpopular. further ZAB "enlightened moderation" was not acceptable to the most of practicing muslims of pakistan .............. all these factors makes the thing easier for late general.

i know what u r missing ......

yeah u r missing ........... the real and even basic knowledge of islamic shariah principles. religion do give u choices but main theme is to obey the divine command and allegiance...........

further u don't know much about the pakistani banking industry and the changes made by the late general zia ............ and its rationale. i m working in risk advisory firm here in Pakistan that provide advisory to leading banks and i can understand that how much u r aware of banking system of Pakistan and mechanism of zakat deduction.........

newayz i appreciate that u participate here and through discussion we all learn the things we dont know.

on a lighter note apply this philosophy of personal choice by not adhering the government laws ............. and religion

violatethe traffic rules, do tax evasion , indulge urself in money laundering and u will find urself either deported or in jail............ just kidding

personal liberties and choices are getting scarce in the world these days...........

after the "patriotism act" enforcement u know whats going on in US ...........

His referendum was biggest fraud of the century. I personally know how people gave vote to that b@st@rd. I was on leave and my vote was cast by people who just stamping thousands of ballet papers.

Regarding mqm, that party was created by that b@st@rd just to oppose PPP. It has now matured as biggest cult and criminal party which sees no boundary.

He was involved in drug traffic ling to partly finance his jehadi agenda and created monster of jehadi culture now biting @sses of pakis. Army is unraveling that strategy since 911, still not successful.

His Afghan policy was total failure and how he was smoked in mid air and by whom, you know very well. Because of his dark policies, Pakistan is now in deep sh!t. How much time will be needed to clear his mess, God knows.

The war legacy

The war left deep scars to the Pakistani society with the menace of Kalashnikov (AK-47 assault rifle) culture spreading all over the country.[19] It is estimated that there are currently 20 million firearms in Pakistan, which has a population of 160 million i.e, every eighth person has a firearm, most likely an automatic one.[20] The rise of the illicit drug trade and its spread through Pakistan to the rest of the world increased tremendously during the Soviet-Afghan war. Afghanistan’s drug industry began to take off after the Soviet invasion in 1979. Desperate for cash with which to buy weapons, various elements in the anti-Communist resistance turned to the drug trade. This was tolerated if not condoned by their Pakistani and American sponsors such as the CIA. [21].

Many Afghan Mujahideen later converted to new forms of Jihadist outfits in the shape of Taliban and Al-Qaeda in the early 1990s. The Pakistan and US trained Arab and Afghan fighters later in 2001 initiated a ‘Jihad’ against US. The links of the spectacular and deadly events of September 11 were deeply rooted in the Soviet-Afghan war. Osama bin Laden invested his inherited money into the Soviet-Afghan war to fight the ‘infidel communist power’ and was abetted by CIA, ISI, US and Pakistani military establishments for over 10 years. [22]

The legacy of the war has transformed itself into another war, the war against terrorism, which is affecting Pakistani society to its roots. Every single Pakistani is affected by this war which was initiated by Zia ul Haq to appease USA in its proxy war against USSR and each Pakistani is still paying the price to this seemingly never ending war which.

@ niden

musharraf also admire the zial ul haq ................ coz he used the same tactics in his referendum............. lols

yar referendum hamesh aisay hi hotay hain ................. first of all he was not behind the drugs it was CIA who who trained the local ppl ............... and helped them to run the heroin labotries.............

whats wrong with its jihadi agenda ............ its according to quran and shariah ............. russia is gonna invade pakistan ........ so what option pakistan has got ..... he fought like a honorable soldier and patriotic person .............

it was his farsightedness he realized the situation and adopted an agressive strategy and defeated the Russian army in Afghanistan. even he was the key person who drastically change the geography of the world. we see the disintegration of USSR and dozen of new countries came in to existence both in euorope and asia.

(i think we shud avoid using abusive lanaguage about a dead man ............. u can have difference opinion about the political philosphy of a person or the acts he made .............. but u have cant question the hasb and nasab of a person ............ hope u know what ******* reaally means )

So you are o,k. whith his fraud referendum. He was definitely behind the drugs, why he was playing with fire by accepting CIA agenda?

jihadi agenda is now biting the a$$e$ of pakis. Daily a # of soldiers and people are dying because of this nonsense.

By the way Zia was playing American agenda, he was not dumb and stupid that Americans were fighting for jehadis in Afghanistan. In American History Books, there is nothing mentioned his cursed name that he ever played a key role in that nonsense.

Re: Zia’s decade of darkness

Blame the ghosts of the past to ignore the failures made in the present.

Dude you don't have to shout. What you are missing is that we Pakistani people are just people of words. When it comes to actions we the people of Pakistan have no guts. We just accept what our politicians choose for us, like robots.

Nisar statements on MQM send house in chaos Updated at: 1935 PST, Wednesday, August 19, 2009

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA), Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan urged on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to clarify minus-one formula, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Addressing the National Assembly, he said the president and other important government officials are talking about minus-one formula, urging the government to tell the house as to who hatching this conspiracy and from where this formula was generated.

The opposition from day one decided to defend the democracy in the national interest and would not be a part to any conspiracy in the larger interest of the country, he remarked urging the government to take opposition in the confidence; the opposition will side with the government if the government does so.

This is the first time that a dictator went without giving protection to his unconstitutional steps, Chaudhry Nisar said.

If the government complies with the Supreme Court ruling, it would have to implement Article-6 of the constitution, he maintained, adding, ‘If the government has issues with it, I am raring to do the same.’

‘We all took oath to safeguard the constitution and the SC verdict is calling out for action against Musharraf; the PPP which raised slogans ‘go Musharraf go’ with us, should spell out its position on Article-6,” he observed.

The government should clear the line whether it stands with Musharraf or against him, he added.

Nisar also addressed the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members urging them to clarify whether they belong to treasury or opposition, adding no hypocrisy will work now.

On this statement, the members of MQM, PML-N exchanged hot words. The MQM members strongly protested and stood on the benches and the whole house was soon seen in chaos.

Nisar said he wants to make it clear how MQM was created and who founded it, adding MQM take ministries and sit with opposition.

The party launched operation in 92, it was joined in 97, he further said.

When in power, they sat with Musharraf, and when they saw Musharraf being dragged to accountability, the moved back, he added.(Last updated

This man has no hairs since last 25 years,Can any one show his real picture

Progeny of Zia:)

in every democracy it is happened ..............

when u elect the parliment ......... ur role vanish ........ now it lies wid the politician how they run the show.

it is not specific wid pakistan......

@ anwer

MQM is the result of sense of depreviation that existed in dat period in mohajir community. yeah it flourished in the era of late general zia .............. and he took benefit out of it as well coz he wanted to make weak ppp.

but if think that it was brain child of zia ul haq then it wud be wrong. APMSO was founded in the 1979 in the early era of zia. it means that there was crises of representation existed before zia, that who can represent urdu speaking community in the province of sindh.

the point i want to say that MQM if not had been created in the era of zia then we must had witnessed it soon after his regime coz things were boiling in the province of sindh. mohajir is majority in the hyderabad and karachi and few other cities of sindh. they can never be represented by sindhi or ne other leader due to their unique culture and other social factors.
so it is not right to say that MQM was conceived and created by zia and if zia wud not be there, MQM wud not exist.

if this wud be case downfall of the MQM wud be started right after the death of General Zia ....... but we see MQM won seats in sindh and national assembly in 88 after the death of Late Zia . still they are winnig elections in the karachi , hyderabad and mir pur khas.
( by the way i m not the supporter of MQM ......... so dont start blaming me .......... what MQM does .......... i m just saying that it is a political reality that still existed 22 years after the death of general zia)

on the other hand if u look at the PML Q the brain child of Mr. Musharraf within 1.5 years u see this party has fallen like house of card.

Re: Zia’s decade of darkness

I do not have much knowledge about the subject at all - or any political 1 lol but Maverick, since you love Zia, could you explain the bs in swat and nwfp?

Re: Zia’s decade of darkness

I think the bs in swat and nwfp be better explained by every government after Bhutto and particularly by Mush lovers. He took billions of dollars of funding for fighting terrorism but still let them come into and settle in around Peshawar and Swat.

Totally agree..

He was the killer of anything moral, legal, liberal, secular, rational, peaceful and progressive in our country. His ghost still haunts us and as a nation we still suffer from his wrong doings..talibanisation, jihadi fundos, violent mullahs, distorted constitution, use of religion to achieve personal political agendas, Klashinkovs, drugs, sectarian hatred and violence are a few gifts from his 11 year misrule and God knows how long we are going to suffer from his misdeeds !!!!

so wanna say that all leader came after him were impotent and incompetent ........... lols

man dont blame him 4 everything ............. if u analyse the whole current scenario u wud realise there are other factors and person more responsible for it than zia.............. who has died 22 years ago.

what u say about constant entanglement of US in this region ............ is it justified ?

and why these jihadis ppl remained tacit for 20 years and now they are against pakistan ............ i think 20 years is a long period is not it ?
