"Zero"has as much importance as any biggest number say 100. U C Zero gravity has so much importance in the universe. Imagine if Pakistan becomes a country of Zero crime & corruption, what wud be the consequences? :)

Zero is a placeholder ... It is absolutely true that it holds no value.
100 actually means 1 in the hundred and no value in the tens and no value in the units. You could throw away the zeros potentially if you could work out another way of representing hundred, distinguishing from ten and that from one.
