Senior leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) reportedly advised President Asif Ali Zardari to quit his political office, consequent upon this, the deliberations in this connection are underway at high level.
A private TV channel quoting sources on Thursday said, the senior party leaders, keeping in view the Asghar Khan case verdict and an order by Lahore High Court (LHC) to President Zardari to quit the political office, counseled him to jettison the office of co-chairmanship of the party. According to sources, the president began mulling over the advice.
The sources noted that a final decision in this regard will be made by President Zardari himself and any such decision is expected in the second week of November.
In case of his relinquishing the office, President Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur will be a strong candidate for the office.
SC ruling with regard to the constitutional working of the head of the state in the Asghar Khan case has put immence pressure on Zardari, coupled with the LHC’s observation about the separation of politics and president’s office. But I don’t think that Zardari will relinquish PPP’s stewardship so easily. In any case, it’s going to be a family affair.

What difference would it make though? Zardari would still be pulling the strings from behind, and would still be making all the decisions. It would just be a paper move, if at all it happens.
Zardari will not leave Pakistan no matter what. Leaving political office will not make any difference given his control on party astonishing to level that after the Shaheed BB not even a remote village office holder defected. Not bad not bad at all.
PPP is different, there voter base is different, they are ideological compare to rest of the lot - PPP is all set for win sizable majority in coming elections.

Yeah i agree with Firenze , I would like to explain his comment a bit further, you see terminology can be quite confusing when it comes to PPP:
PPP's Ideology: loot maar + corruption+ Mafia style running of the party+blackmailing and fraud
PPP's votership: I am Zardari , I Bribe them all and get their vote + in ko itna khalao maal ki moo bund ho jaaye in sub voters ka + sub bikao maal hain, give them money to run their business, show them the perks of being with the government and watch them give their vote generation after generation ! Paoo ki jooti bana ker rakho , dont educate them and then they easily vote for PPP
