Kiyani and Pasha would rather have zardari take all the humiliation than anyone else.** Much of it is deserved for PPP’s worser economic performance** contrary to jiyala rantings, but the army would have taken its share of blame if it were in power for security and strategic issues.

Memo gate had nothing to do with economic performance, Kayani and Pasha can tolerate any corruption, any incompetence, any level of ‘no-development of any kind’ but as soon as finger is pointed at ‘boots’ things start to heat up.
