Zardari it seems lives in a utopia. Challenging establishment is kosher but it won’t revive the status of his dying political party.
It makes sense to challenge the army if 1) you are very popular (have support of the majority, we are talking of a party which has become regional from federal) 2) the party has performance (to boast) on the federal/provincial levels. The standing of the political party Zardari heads is poor on both accounts and he wants to challenge the establishment.
PPP will come out weaker out of this fiasco. Realising this kaira today is trying to douse the fire ignited by mr chairman. Time for other political parties to sit back and enjoy.

Some much needed factual corrections:
First of all, Rangers were called in by Sindh government! The other provinces haven’t felt the need to call in rangers to curb the unprecedented level of violence caused socio-economic, political, ethnic and religious terrorism which plagued the City of Karachi. So yes, you won’t randomly see Rangers doing police work in ISB or LHR.
Secondly, Rangers were given a mandate by Sindh government to go after target killers, land mafia and funders of violence and terrorism in the City. It is Sindh government’s misfortune that Rangers discovered that provincial government itself is the biggest land mafia in the City, and their partners (MQM) the ultimate target killers, and they decided to do something about it.
What makes you think Rangers themselves will sit down and read the files to find evidence? lol By the way, Rangers raided the SBCA office with their faces covered, there is a possibility of Intelligence members also being part of that raid.

PPP has converted Karachi into a jungle during its rule spanning almost a decade (the present run). During this time it was least interested in establishing its writ. Instead of targeting criminal elements who supposedly belonged to one of their ally parties, they created their own terrorist/looter wings. Who was supposed to control the city when a competition was going on to bleed the city dry? PPP has been trumpeting that they are conducting an across the board operation in Karachi, a true across the board operation would naturally have targeted the criminal elements in PPP as well. Lo and behold that’s not acceptable.
