Zardari calls on Maulana Fazl in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari Thursday called on Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who is the head of Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam (JUI-F) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal leader.
Talking to media after the meeting with Asif Ali Zardari, Maulana Fazl said consensus was expressed during the meeting to continue the positive dialogue for the establishment of a national government and political reconciliation and solidarity.
Maulana said after the meeting that the political parties, which got the mandate from the people of Pakistan, should be respected, adding, ‘I hope that the upcoming government would succeed in overcoming the problems facing the country.’
On this occasion, he proposed to establish a government of national consensus and MMA is fully geared up for this.
‘We want the supremacy of the parliament and the complete rule of the constitution,’ he added.
Asif Ali Zardari said the nation would soon hear the glad tidings of establishment of a national consensus government.
Akram Khan Durrani, Maulana Shirani, Makhdoom Amin Fahnim, Yousuf Reza Gilani and others were also present during the meeting between the two leaders.
