Zardari allowed to leave Pakistan...

Faulty facts as usual.

**Mr Zardari had been convicted by an accountability court in the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) case in 2002. “His sentence will conclude in 2009.” **

Did they ever manage to ever convict the man of any crime in more than three years before Musharraf? No. It was the Musharraf government that did that - hardly the action of someone who would want to make a deal with this crook. Plus who even said this government offer was even a deal? BB and Zardari are the only Pakistani ‘leaders’/ministers whose Swiss bank accounts have been frozen , and have been convicted in the courts of that country. They stand alongside the most brutal dictators of the world like Marcos and Mobutu in this infamy, while turning our country into the second most corrupt in the world.

It was Musharraf and NAB that has brought back a spectacular $3.25 billion of looted money back to Pakistan, when the same amount or more would have been looted freely if BB or NS were in power. Only under a powerful Musharraf Presidency will we continue to ensure that no government minister or leader ever loots our nation, as before, and that looted money keeps on coming back to Pakistan. :k:

P.S. I remember you posted a poll not too long ago asking for this crook to be released? Why the sour grapes no?

:rotfl:

Malik and co will simply not answer the questions posed to them because the facts are not on their side.

That is a quote by…Sheikh Rashid. So, Malik’s level has come down to quoting Sheikh Rashid for support . :biggthumb

Any layman with even rudimentary knowledge of Pakistani jurisprudence would know that time already served is always subtracted from the sentence. Except when Sheikh Rashid says so :hehe:

How about - http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_21-4-2004_pg3_1

The best bukwas by Malik is:

:rotfl:  :rotfl:

**Okay, how much has been recovered from Aftab Sherpao of the money he looted in the Mehran Bank scam. How much from Chaudhry brothers from the Co-op caper?

How is the NAB case against Faisal Saleh Hayat proceeding? ;)**

I’ll expect a thundering silence from Malik, as usual.

More stellar record of the Musharraf regime.

Rs20bn owed by tycoons written off

By Rauf Klasra

ISLAMABAD:** An enormous loan of Rs20 billion outstanding against influential business and industrial tycoons of the country has been written off during the last three years of military rule in the country.

Contrary to the established banking traditions which stops the authorities from writing off principal amounts, a big principal amount of loans to the tune of Rs5.6 billion has also been written off by the banks outstanding against some mighty businessmen. This was disclosed in the National Assembly during the question hour session here on Saturday.**

According to the written reply of Finance Minister, Shaukat Aziz, the written off loans were borrowed from government banks and development financial institutions from 1999 to date. Earlier, an MNA asked Aziz to provide details of loans, mark-ups and interest, written off by the nationalised banks and DFIs from 1999 to date. In reply, he said the banks have written off a total amount of Rs20 billion.

Out of the total Rs20 billion, Rs11.933 billion has been written off by the public sector banks and DFI from 1999 to date. The minister said a principle amount of Rs5.6 billion has been written off while Rs6.2 billion mark-up has also been written off.

In addition, he said the Agriculture Development Bank wrote off Rs5 billion agriculture loans and Rs1.7 billion for agro-industry loans given to big industrialists.

Ironically, in the last session of the National Assembly, the same Agriculture Development Bank revealed that it had detained as many as 111 small farmers in Mirpur Khas district in Sindh when they failed to pay their small loans. They secured their freedom only when they paid Rs9million after selling their belonging and cattle because due to drought they had no cash to pay their loans. :mad2: :mad3:

While, in this case, a massive sum has been written off outstanding against big defaulters belonging to the industrial sector. Replying to another question, the Finance Minister said that 11 American companies preparing consumable items in Pakistan during the last three years transferred foreign exchange of $7.8million for royalty and technical assistance

Does anyone want to guess the party affiliations of the tycoons who got loans written off?

Zardari, as corrupt as he may be, is nothing more then a political prisoner rigth now. The fact that he is sindhi-baloch doesn't help his cause with the pakistani establishment much either.

Malik, please tell me you don't really believe what you just wrote.

Faulty facts as usual.

I am afraid you seem unaware of legal realities in Pakistan, a persons sentence normally starts from the time of arrest. The ruling by the court in Zardaris case is pretty well known...and so is the lack of any ruling in all the other Ministers cases.

Also if you believe in the courts ruling, that means you do not believe in the retroactive indemnity granted Musharraf for treason?

Why was Zardari known as Mr. 10% ?

:k:

No, you have to prove that Zardari’s sentence is not till 2009, as the government has stated, not a perosnal opinion. Did the presiding judge in that case state that the sentence against Zardari was retroactive? Is there a constititional amendment or Presidential ordinance specifically tailored for Mr 10% that decrees that? Also, one asks again what deal? The Musharraf government convicts him in a corruption case, and sentences him for seven years, and in true cowardly spirit he is too scared to face the charges in Switzerland - so what deal huh?

He and his wife looted $1.5 billion from Pakistan in just three years - that according to BB/PPP-appointed President Leghari in 1996, not Musharraf years later. Yet in just three the Musharraf government brought back some $3.25 billion of looted money that BB and her “brother” NS…

P.S. Again I remember you posted a poll not too long ago asking for this crook to be released? Why the sour grapes no?
