Ok guys need a fool proof recipe…i followed MIL’s instructions yday via Skype and taste was fine but rice was mushy like halwa-i tink i cooked them for too long…this is the recipe i followed:
-boil water with zarda rang
-when boils add the rice
-once rice is soft drain all the water
-put oil in a pan and put in cardamoms and add the rice and add sugar as desired…
-leave it on dum until rice is dry
i tink i shudnt have waited for the rice to completely cook when it was boiling…any ideas???
You do not boil the rice it is it soft that was the biggest mistake , you boil them to the point where you can still see some whiteness in the rice that is they are half cooked. You fully cook them by giving them dum as they call it in Urdu.
