i think you're probably gonna get different answers on that one :)

me personally, i like the syrup separately way...

Also, can you tell me please, when you make the syrup in the pan, how much water do you add to the sugar? Lets say for 2 cups rice

one cup of sugar to one cup of rice

and water i use very less of ..so enough to get it started on becoming watery..don't add too much otherwise you'll have a hard time trying to get rid of it ...especially since sugar releases it's own water..
try adding a bit of milk too...to make it more liquidy..

Mera bhi barra hi dil kar raha hai zarda khanay ka…
lekin bananay ka nahi.
