can you identify this? these Urdu poems were handwritten by a very famous personality of the sub-continent…can you guess who that person is?

are nahiiN janaab...na-balad hote to itnii achchhii 'ibaarat kaise likhte...bolded part: kharay uatarnaa means be true to it! :)

of Bhagat Singh and posted here.

That is Bhagat Singh's hand-writing ? Very beautiful.
And he was a scholar of Urdu shair-o-shaairi ? Interesting.

yes, he was editor of both Urdu and Punjabi magazines at the time published from Lahore. his Urdu handwriting was awesome.

a tough man on the outside but a soft heart on the inside...his selection of poetry is a reflection of that...

NOTE:

even to this day, there are older generation of Hindus N Sikhs who write in Urdu rasm ul Khat...mostly, the store owners write your list of things you want in Urdu. sad it is that younger generation of Muslims are na-balad Urdu se. :(

Also, is Punjabi supposed to be written in Devanagri script or Nasta'liq like Urdu ?

I think it is written in Urdu script in Pakistan but in Devanagri in India.

i think it's called gurmukhi in India...Devanagri is Hindi script. Punjabi and Hindi look similar in some ways.
