I have a nephew Ahmed in chicago who will be 6 this march inshallah. Of all my other newpews and neices he is the noisiest. No one has ever succeeded in calming him down 
The best i had was when i convinced him to play a game called who can keep quietest for the longest time and the loser will not get the computer for 3 hours.
For the next two minutes whole place became so serene, so calm. You could hear water sprinklers in the garden some 200 meters away. It was beautiful.. while it lasted.
That trick never worked again
