^What if you get zam zam water as a gift from someone and you want that water to never be finished and you keep mixing it with normal water?

Because it is okay to do wudu with Zam Zam and 'ghusl' with Zam Zam (I have not heard that, but accepting it), then who said it is okay to mix Zam Zam? Are we using our own judgement on it? When someone gives me Zam Zam, and I can taste the difference the bottled stuff that comes over from Saudi I can assure is not 100% Zam Zam, I get rather annoyed.
So then is it haram? So are we not allowed to mix it with regular water or in other things.
I am of the view that you should let others know that you mixed but that is not what I am asking here. I am asking about whether it is permissible to do it or not and I have not come across any hadith which prohibits. Maybe you can show me? :)

Peace Hum_Hain_Lajawab bro
I didn't say it was Haram. All I was saying is that we can't say it is allowed on the basis of it being acceptable for wudu or ghusl.
If it is acceptable then this needs just as must justification as people who say it is not allowed. However, not doing it lends itself to a more Islamic understanding because of the hadith that states if there is doubt in a matter it is better to abstain.
I only argued from a rational and personal perspective. For me I would rather that people give me pure Zam Zam even if it were only a few drops because I can taste the difference. If people want to preserve the water or increase the duration for it's use. Then it would be better to use little rather than mix and use a lot.

Zam Zam has a distinct taste, mixing it instantly removes that taste. It is like buying dates of good and bad quality and giving the mixed good and bad dates as a gift to someone. Even if you tell them that there are some poor quality dates in the supply it sounds rather rude and coy to give a gift which is not of good quality. Gifts should be the best and if we wants pure for ourselves then we should give pure to others. It is only right!
People, if they looked into their own fitrah they would see that they would rather have a few drops of pure Zam Zam touch their lips than a jug of water with mixed Zam Zam and tap water bleached clean from the local reservoirs.
I say as a gift to someone when giving Zam Zam, it should be pure, out of courtesy.
sister, you are right on target. I am not saying that we SHOULD go ahead mix both waters. When the situation arises, one should just ask the person whom one intends giving it to before mixing.. That's all there is. As for justifying it, well if we can use it for wudhu and ghusl then there shouldn't be a problem mixing it with natural water. Here is a quote from Sheikh Faraz Rabbani (I trust this scholar):
[QUOTE]
Zamzam can be used for wudu and ghusl, though it is best that this be done in a state of ritual purity, as this is closest to respecting this blessed water. It is improper to remove filth with it. [See: Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar; Tahtawi, Hashiyat al-Maraqi]

I think it's pretty clear that if something is not allowed and is prohibited, then there must be something in Quran & Sunnah telling us that. I do not believe that we can assume something is prohibited just on the basis that it is holy or is praised. Remember, we are talking about mixing here, not wasting it or throwing it on the floor without a proper use. You said you did not say it was haram but it seemed as if that is what you meant so that is why I asked. My apology for that :)

u’d think there were other more important things in the world than whether we can mix zam zam with water or not
